Hey Tony, great videos. A little off topic but will you be reviewing the new Sigma 100 to 400mm? Looking to buy it as a cheap wildlife capable lens on a Sony E camera.
I got a couple of gems out of this video. I think it’s going to improve my photography. Thanks Tony.
I am trying to pursue a career in commercial automobile photography, but I am currently on the 8 megapixel iPhone 5. That, of course, won’t get me anywhere professionally. I have very little knowledge on cameras and anything beyond basic functions (exposure, ISO, shutter speed, and aperture). Therefore, I’m clueless as to which camera to purchase for my future career (not yet been to photography school). I very much enjoy close up, almost macro shots of cars, to give you a better idea as to the camera/lens I should consider. If it helps, I also take a few landscape shots; those as well are usually macro (or at least as close to macro as my phone camera will let me get). If you look at my profile picture, that I took using snapshot mode on PS4, but then I had to edit it on my phone 👎🏻. Anyways, I would appreciate you reading this, and any response would make my day, lol. Thank you.
yes, i have successfully shot for several seconds consecutively on my 7200. Nobody needs to shoot 50 to 100 RAW shots in a row anyhow. Doesnt the 7200 also have one of the highest rankings for dynamic range on DXOMark? Almost as high as the d810 making the 7200 a great choice compared to the 7500
You can’t use a crop body camera for sports or wildlife, since there aren’t any long DX lenses. You’re losing all those perceptual Mpix using the FX glass – right?😁
I love watching reviews of the D7500 because it makes me love even more with my d7200 😀
So the Sony A7RII would not get a recommendation if you are a pro photographer due to the lack of an additional card slot?
Looking at this newest release from a completely neutral point of view, since I don’t shoot Nikon and have no vested interest either way… I have to wonder if perhaps D5700 might be a better designation for this camera? Despite little trinkets thrown in from the D500, this is clearly not an upgrade to the 7xxx series in any way.
In regard to 4k: I can almost never tell the difference between 4k and good 1080p. it could just be that most of the 4k stuff out there is fairly crap, or else the pixel count doesn’t matter as much after 1080p. Usually 1080p @60fps is far superior. Manufacturers really need to get stuck into 4k@60fps. 4k is a nice buzzword though and 60fps never gets enough credit.
I just got my D7000 after ruining my D3300 in Zion National Park. I thought I knew my D3300 fairly well until I got the D7000. I could only imagine learning this one.
D5500 has wifi and released before d7200
That rear screen on the D7500 is about the same resolution as the one on a D90. Yikes! (yes, I know it’s touchscreen as is the one on the D500 which has oodles more resolution .. >2 MP
Hey Tony, D7500 viewfinder magnification should be 0.94× and it still has the AF focus motor.
Would love to see a D7200 vs D7500 comparison!
it’s a crippled D500, god nikon you could have just take the D7200 and put the autofocusing / metering system of the D500, put snapbridge give it half the buffer of the D500, dual SD Cards and you’re done …… a true D7500 and it will sell a lot
#d7200 also got the built in focusing motor
I think Nikon’s pricing this camera at $1249.95 is ridiculously high. $900.00 is a far more realistic price for what is being offered. Tony, you didn’t mention the fact that battery life at 950 shots is less than the D7200 (1110) nor did you mention the brightness of the LCD screen is down from the D7200’s 1,228,000 dots to 922,000 dots.
I will stick with my d7100. If I were a pro, I would have the D500, but I just shoot for fun.
To be honest, it sounds like a downgrade from D7200 except for some narrow applications.
Seems like the big difference will be the sensor, since autofocus will not be up to D500 levels. I have a D7100 and skipped the D7200 because the sensor seemed to be the same. How big a difference will the D7500 sensor be in low light or elsewhere over the D7200 sensor?
