Yes! I’ve been waiting on your preview/review.
I would buy a Used D500 all day long. But Nikon REALLY needs to step up their video functions. This is ridiculous. 4K uncropped with a 10 bit out of the hdmi.
isnt a d7100 still good at 450 quid used? Doesnt it have the same focusing system?
Hi Tony! I have a question. I am primarily a Canon user but I have always been curious about Nikon so I bought the D3300. Not that impressed. That being said, I wanted to buy an older lens from eBay or Etsy , etc. I read that all Nikon lenses fit all Nikon bodies but I think that might only apply to full frame bodies. If I buy an older lens, will I need an adapter for my D3300? Thanks!
This camera is irrelevant. Its 2017 nobody buys overgrown heavy cameras like this anymore. Its not for professionals and is simply too big to take it anywhere. Sorry to say this but nikon missed the boat again. Prepare for next year loses again.
Ain’t D7500 gonna have water-proof or water-resistant body (quite a big thing comparing to D5xxx) – in mine D7100 it’s water-proof if I remember it good. And D500 is much better in low light than D7200 as far as I checked.
Will this be better than canon 80D?
With the sensor from the D500 and the bigger buffer, this camera screams “Semi-Pro.” I was hoping for the D500’s AF system, but I guess there needs to be some differentiation.
But with only one card slot and no battery grip, it also seems decidedly amateurish. I’m really confused about who Nikon was targeting with this camera.
Side note, I am decidedly “meh” on flip screens. I appreciate their utility, but they are also one more moving part (a very large one mind you) to break, which isn’t ideal when you value a rugged camera like I do.
As an upgrade to the 5000’s series, it would be a great upgrade but 7000 series, are Nikon insane. Unless professional palms are pressed with silver Nikon will not get the needed endorsements to sell this camera. I like Nikon and recently purchased a £600 prime lens, so I take no joy in my comments. Come on Nikon stop offering doggy technology like Crapbridge and stick to well made and considered offering.
Your buffer comparison does not seem to bee correct. I think you had the d7100 in your mind. The d7200 has a 18 frames (14bit lossless) and 27 frames (12 bit raw) buffer.
Thanks for giving me so much information to consider. I’d like to know which lenses would you would pair with the D7500 with for landscape, portrait and wildlife?
I use Nikon and with the built in wifi on my D750, I use the app “WMU Nikon” on my phone and I have great transfer rate, upload to view/save and live view to shoot. If you haven’t used it you guys may wanna look it up!
the thing is nothing more than a paper weight , this is not a upgrade from the D7200 , i didnt hear you mention that you cant use a battery grip , the D7500 should be called D5700
I need two cards. D7500 is exit immediately. I keep my D7200 with FX glass.
18mm lens, on this camera, would give you 40.5mm FF equivalent when shooting 4K, not 27mm
Tony, the D7200 body does have a focusing motor built in. It looks as if the D7500 does, too, according to the specs I have read. It will NOT be able to use the old pre-AI manual focus lenses, though.
Why buy this if you have a Nikon D7200? And dont say video
D7200 6Buffer?, No this was the D7100, the 7200 has buffer for 23Raw!
I think some things things worth mentioning also is that it lacks AI indexing for those manual focus Nikkor lenses and a lower resolution display (same as the ancient D7000 !!). I can understand why Nikon removed the dual card slots, AF motor and AI indexing because not many people use them and they want to cut costs, but some if us do use them. To me those features defined the D7x00-series. and this is just something else, like a rugged D5700. It just looks to me that Nikon is looking to sell a cheaper camera for more money here. I’ll stick with the D7200. Oh and it can’t have battery grips! Nikon crippled it!
The D7500 is a Castrated D500 its a Plastic camera one SD slot no gripits an upgrade from the D5600 Total Cr-p the D7200 is a far better buy what is Nikon playing at with this just Rubbish Tom G
