You can live with GH4’s crop factor and autofocus, why not Nikon’s?
Does it have OIS?
I would like to see the image quality from this camera.
Thnx for the preview, after two white screens.. lol.. 😬
Great vid! Appreciate the Pro vs Non-Pro shooter recommendations. Sometimes us amateurs get caught up over “pro” features that we’ll rarely use.
Just replaced my D7200 for the D500 a couple of weeks ago and looking at the spec for the Nikon D7500, the D500 was worth paying the extra cash for.
no ai indexing tab is just ridiculous
D7500 + Tamron 10-24 II + 35/1.8G Dx Nikkor . . . for the price of D500 alone. I would buy D7500 ahead of D500 & D7200. If D7500 is over-priced (which it probably is), then, D500 is even more over-priced despite its extra features. The 3rd lens i would get is the new cheap Dx Nikkor 70-300. Only Dx lenses on Dx bodies, no Fx lenses, like Tony always says. Chromatic Aberrations flare up by using Fx lenses on Dx bodies because Fx lenses were not optimised or designed to be used on Dx sensor. I sold my D7000 in 2013 and am using Canon 6D + 24-70 for 4 years.
D5300 here! Gonna stick to it until I go full frame and that’s it!
WIll only upgrade lenses. Let’s stopp wasting money on upgrading bodies that will be old anyway soon.
I think I’ll be sticking to my current Nikon, I’ve read the magazine articles about the 7500 and they portray it as the best yet, thanks for an excellent review I think maybe I’ll save for a d500
I have seen conflicting reports about whether or not the D7500 has a built-in autofocus motor. People have been confusing this with the compatibility/incompatibility relating to AIS. Can you confirm the motor is present or not? Certainly looking at a picture of the D7500 body on the Nikon official web site it does seem to clearly show the autofocus motor drive shaft on the lens mounting flange in the usual position.
can u compare it with 80d ?
Watched the video because I was seriously thinking of trading in my D500 and hoping this may have IR remote options, but even if it has, which I doubt very much because they implemented the super terribly annoying Snapbridge, have invested in a WR-10 transceiver last week, but still missing the better functionality of IR (in bulb mode) to me.
Thanks to your great preview I realise trading it in for the D7500 is not an option in any case 🙂 … maybe í’ll save a little more and trade it in for a D810 or it’s successor, ..or go bonkers and get the Pentax K1 next weekend ah well 1st world problems 🙂
@Tony really nice shirt! Total Recall ftw!
I’m glad that you’re marking down cameras for still using the dated LCD screen at the top, more reviewers should do the same to put pressure on the manufacturers to step up.
I think you forgot how many pictures you can take before the battery dies. I think the D7500 will be the same price as the D7200, if not maybe a $50 difference because of all of the negative reviews. That way Nikon will say, “do you want the new Nikon D7500 that have 4k, shoots 50 raw and 100 jpg without buffering at 8 fps or would you like to buy the old D7200 that has 1080p, shoots 6 fps, has 2 sd slots and has 24.2mp?”
6 raw buffer for d7200? That was for the d7100. I think that d7200 buffer is about 24 raw
One thing is certain. Once the D7200 stocks are exausted, we will end up with a Nikon DSLR market segment that has less features than what it had several years ago.
That is why we users should advocate for retaining features in this price range, not justify loosing them for the benefit of D500 profit.
the D7500 HAS a focusing motor
the D7500 has liitle bit worse viewfinder than D500 has (0.95x)
Fix that glitches please.
+Tony & Chelsea Northrup Great content! The D7200 has a 18 Raw buffer. It’s the D7100 that shoots 6 raw before buffer runs out. 😀
Finally! Yeah, I held out for the 7500, not impressed. But, as of the time I’m writing this, the D7200 can be had on Amazon “new”, between $750 and 8. I do like the tilt touch screen on the 7500 though, but snap bridge. Never a slam dunk with these people. ugh! I really can’t find much I like better than the D5600 honestly. Hard to justify any DX upgrade without a huge increase in price, or giving up features I like.
