Missed the Highlight Exposure metering in the D500 and D7500
Tony, Did you try putting your phone in airplane mode to transfer with Snapbridge? I do not have a Snapbridge capable camera but I must use airplane mode in order for WMU to work on my D5300 and to allow my Android to communicate with my drone. Hope this helps.
wow “UNPRECEDENTED” “TREMENDOUS”
Hi Tony. I have a nikon d700 and I want to buy a nikon d7200 or 7500 is ut worth it?
I just got into photography and I purchased a d3400, I’m an able to get some pretty good images in well-lit conditions even with the standard kit lenses. However the images from Junior High School indoor basketball games are not too great and that’s one of the main reasons why I purchase the camera. Should I upgrade to the D 7200 or should I keep the D 3400 and just invest in some better glass???
Put it on a rig, add follow focus and you`ll see what you can do with it. I just got it and found it a very good camera, it all depends on what you want from it.
Question: If one memory slot is not ideal for pro or lets say, wedding photography, why do folks that review the D700 swear by it for pro use but more so, wedding photography?
The niche here is obvious to me. In my view, it is a direct upgrade from the entry level 5300, 5500, 5600 etc, for enthusiasts that shoot primarily landscape, wildlife and portraits. The upgrade from the 7200 is obviously the D500. They misnamed the camera, but it’s purpose is quite clear in my view. It is a prosumer camera, period. Pros should stick with the D7200 or D500. I “probably” don’t need it, but should I decide to upgrade from the D5600, my choice would likely be the D7500 because of it’s upgraded processor, shooting speed, and focusing. But..going down to 20mp from 24 does make it a little harder to justify.
Hello,
I’m new to photography and am learning a lot from your channel. Love your videos and they have helped me with pretty much everything.
My main goal is wildlife and pet shoots. I just bought the D7500 over the Canon 80d and was wondering if I made the right choice for wildlife? This is my first camera and I won’t be using video.
Advice?
Thanks
Dan
I recommended the 7500 to a friend who wanted a nikon birding camera without spending as much as i did for my D500. Do you think I did well or should I find them suggest them another model?
I am so tired off you dude really …on the 7100 you said jeez that’s so bad on sport and wildlife because after 5 on the 6 u get 1 sec delay and now you talk trash on the 7200 because you said it was better and they had that improvement….I think if they gonna release a 7600 I might bet that you will also trash this one
The d7200 isn’t the predecessor. It should be called the d6000 so people stop getting so confused as to where it sits in the lineup
People who have moved from D7200 to d7500 have agreed that d7500 has better iso capabilities . D7500 uses 180k rgb metering system obtained from d500. You are the first reviewer to tell that iso performance is same has d3xxx series. Also d7500 has inbuilt focusing motor. This part few reviewers are getting it wrong which means af lenses would auto focus.
I know this is an old thread but for people looking to buy a D7500 I felt an update post was worthwhile. After selling both d750’s,6d,6dii, of the bodies I currently own the d610,d7100,em10ii,D7500. This is my favorite Nikon body period and what I grab. What imediate things to describe why?? Lightweight perfect mid size body whith good IQ, snappy AF, and flagship spec features. Such as 1/8000, full flash options, first curtain shutter, tilt, touch, grip, iso button placement, buffer, fps,LV exposure preview……. My favorite for sure. Smaller lighter dx lenses are great and my FF glass fits and feels right light-years better than the new breed of tiny mirror less bodies. Future Nikon wish list?? D7500 f-mount body, d750 sensor, d5 AF module. Oh yeah and Nikon could you at least give a firmware update for focus peaking in LV for F sakes across the entire line.
the D7200 has a 1 second buffer with RAW images. Oh really. I think you hit your head on the concrete.
Really fantastic, thorough and complete review and comparison. Thanks!!
Hey Tony, I used to shoot with the D5000 and Macro work with my D5200 and recently upgraded to the D7500. I believe it does have the motor in the body to drive Nikkor D lenses (Yes, I tried it). It can allow me to “fine focus” my prime lenses to a higher focus level. The processor is the fastest made by Nikon and it has far more AF sensors and a faster tracking compared to anything I’ve had the pleasure to shoot. Though my budget will not allow me to buy a D500 (as though that were a pro camera) the D7500 is in my price range. If I were serious about wedding shoots it would Not be done with a DX camera but rather a FX, either a D800 or go all the way with a D850. But for the Enthusiast shooter, this camera is fine. If it came down to slapping big bucks down for Pro work, I would pass on the D500 and get the D850 (but most would be fine with the old D800 at 36px).
Did he say the Nikon d5300 y better than the Nikon d7500?
Hi Tony great video , I would like to ask you a question since I own the d5300 with the sigma 18-35; but I wanted to achieve better portraits , then I decided to buy the tamron 85mm, but I had back focus problems with my copy , and as I don’t have the calibration station nor the d5300 support lens micro adjustments I decided to return the Lens. Now I’m thinking to upgrade to the D7500 just to be able to calibrate future lenses and to be able to do high speed sync. Do you think that it is a good move for me? I don’t do pictures for living, it is just my favorite hobby. Maybe would you have some better suggestions to continue improving my photography? Thanks
I have one card that has already fail it can happen.
