Hadn’t heard about this model. I’m about to upgrade, vacillating between D500 and D750. I HAD been thinking about the 7200, but decided the price difference could be negotiated for full frame. I’m glad you told us about this one, but it isn’t enough different or better by specs to even give it consideration. So thanks. 🙂

The D500 has more focus points. You said the D500 and D7500 are the same at 51. D500 has 153 same as the D5.

Why does everyone feel the need to rip this camera!? Every new camera in a line is a usually a smallish upgrade to the predecessor. This has several upgrades from the D7200. 4k alone might be a big deal for some, and the price is not bad. Better sensor, lighter, weather sealed.. I want it!

Having only 1 card slot is THE only downside I see about this camera. The existence of the D500 makes it hard to consider. I’d get a refurbished or second hand D500 over D7500 any day.

D7200 used / grey market = >$800
D7500 new / untested = $1250
D500 used / grey market = $1500-$1700

Given that it only has one card slot and can’t use old lenses, it’s in a weird spot…

Nikon to me is just nostalgic memories, sentimental value with its lens, still use my nikon lens with a6300 body.. made me crying while listening to Nikon official song.

just hold off for a month or 2 save and get the d500 literally no one should buy this camera…the d7000s are pretty much being given away on ebay and Craig’s list so for 700 you can get a used d7000 and a camfi or case air and have the same features and money for a 50mm 1.4

As an all around DX camera, the D7500 looks fine. You have the same image quality as the D500. 60 days after introduction, this camera will be priced at about HALF the D500. 98% of the users of this camera won’t care about the SD card slot or AIS issue.
