Will be a great body, I loved my 7100. It has one weakness tough, no Sony sensor. The 7100 also had no Sony sensor but it used a masterpiece from Hitachi. The D500 and the D7500 are using a Nikon sensor, and it had a reason Nikon bought sensors from Sony instead of using their own, they simply are 5 years behind in research.

One SD slot!!!! No way….why would Nikon do that. I have a 7200 and was looking for another, at least the price of the D7200 will now drop and I can get that second body. Big Nikon mistake!!

This should’ve been a straight up replacement for the D7200. The one card slot is a load of bs at this price point. I get protecting the D500 somewhat, but would it really have killed them to put in 2 sd slots? 1 card slot is fine for personal stuff, but I’d rather have the option of 2 card slots in case of work where I want redundancy when I’m shooting something I may only have one chance to photograph to avoid having a card potentially going bad. Ugh decisions decisions.

The buffer which is very good if you ever hold the button down for 50 straight shots I will punch you in the face, because there is no reason to do that 😀 😀 😀

I thought the D500 is 153 points? He said this one is the same at 51 points. Wouldn’t that be the D7200 at 51 points?

Hoe disappointing this new camera is. I can never spend that amount of money for a camera with such poor specs comparing to any other 2017 camera. Stay with your D7200 I think. Why only one cardslot???? In a few years………once there was Nikon..Such a shame! !!

And they removed AI/AIS coupling ring (little element on bayonet that sent aperture info from AI AIS lenses into camera metering system) So no use with older and manual lenses.

This camera would have been great with 30 megapixels. With 20… it feels like a big letdown.

One UHSI card slot??? Seriously? Epic fail! What have Nikon been smoking? Good luck getting the 50 RAW buffer in continuous burst, unless this is sporting a serious internal buffer I doubt even the fastest UHSI cards will keep up with the write speed.

I am actually waiting for the next FX camera after the D750. Since my D600 ended up in a river…ouch…and I have been using my wives D7100 for now.

Yep. Silly that it only have 1 SD card slot.
And jeebus, Nikon should just leave the “video features” out if they can’t do them properly.
I bet it even can’t change aperture while in live view mode.

I bought the 3 year old GH4 to get zebra stripes, changeable aperture in live view, 96 fps slo-mo (GH5 does 180), 1080P60, and so much more.

sure, the D7500 is a relatively cheap camera so I shouldn’t compare it to proper cameras. Well, The D5 costs 3 times more than the GH5 and does just 1/5 what the GH5 can do.

Nikon should just stay with still images.

Is it worth to upgrade from d7000 for better dynamic range and cleaner imager in high iso? or better get d750 instead..
