Does it have built in flash commander? If it does, to me it’s a step up from the D500. I can’t believe they took the great, built-in flash commander, that the D300S had and made the D500 without it!
I went from a D7100 to a D500 and there is no looking back. Personally if I had the choice and the money definitely going the D500
I really don’t understand what Nikon is doing. Give us a Full frame 4 k that doesn’t cost £5 000. I’m a tv reporter and use my D750 to do tv interviews. I love the possibility to switch from FX to DX. So now give us a D750 with a 4 k capability and I will buy it.
Typical Jared post missing an important point I think. The D7500 has a pop up flash and the D500 does not.
Really depends on the user. I for one prefer the buttons and dials of a Pro body that is on the D500 rather than the multiple purpose buttons at the back of the camera next to the screen which inevitably is blocked by your face if you want to do a quick change when looking through the viewfinder.
D500 for me…and the 153 AF points…well. it helps more than 51 though the middle AF point gets the most use most of the time.
What a lot of people don’t say and still don’t say out loud is the sorry excuse called Snapbridge. I am not sure if they have improved on its consistency (or the lack thereof) but when it works, my social media page is a happy place to be.
HI thanks for the review, it was good and very helpful and cleared my head regarding various specs confusions. I am a new photographer. I would like to purchase Canon 5D mark iii. People say 5 D mark IV is not worth the upgrade as for the money it costs .. Please suggest
As a Canon user, I’d be interested in using this to see what it is like, but not sure I’d rush out and buy one!
Waiting for Nikon to come out with a new Full Frame bad ass camera that has the same resolution as the D810( or better), 4K video with that award winning 153 point AF system and oh yeah that touch screen feature plus a full articulating flip-out LCD like the D5500 has would be pretty awesome too. So for now I’m currently still using my D750 with high end glass and was thinking about getting a D810 but decided to wait and continue to save money for something newer and better. Have you heard anything Jared?
this video is an unequivocal shambles . You should delete it right away and put right all the bollox. makes you seem like a terribly misinformed clown.
Looking at the specs of the D7500 I believe that removing one card slot is a way from Nikon to “protect” the D500 as the D7500 is similar to the D500 in terms of performance and cheaper and therefore would sell more than the D500. We saw the same from Canon with the 5D Mark IV trying to protect its cinema line …. The fact that battery life is reduced can be forgiven since Nikon always gives better than average battery life.
I like the concept modulo the fact that they eliminated one Card Slot. But besides that, that would be my camera (if I would not have moved to full Frame D750). The Focus System of the D500 ist better for Sports or wildlife. But I also think the D7500 will be good here as well.Given the fact, that is Little more then half the Price of a d500, this is a compelling offer.
When I first heard there was a D7500 cooking I was ready to sell my D7000 and buy the D7500, but wait until I got the full specs and learn am losing a card slot ….. I think I’ll stick to my D7000 for now. WRONG MOVE NIKON!!
I just want a D7200 in a D5600 body.
I owned a D7200 and now own a D500 plus a D810. For the life of me I can’t understand what Nikon is thinking. They come out with “a over priced parts bin camera” in their 100 anniversary year, and remove a card slot…..Jeesh!
You seemed to ignore one of the more significant removals, that being the Ai aperture indexing tab. This really ticks me off, as losing that and the extra SD card slot means that I might as well drop to the D5500 or something … sheesh. And what is with tilting LCDs and full articulation already exists in their parts bin?
This is like paying $1200 for a titan xp… and in a few months later $700 for a 1080ti… same performance.
now they gonna come out with a 70-500 lens lolololol
I want to upgrade my D3100 to something more serious. It would be hard for me to afford the D500 which is what I would want, but you would get a D7500 or D7200?
I’d rather Nikon release info on the FX line up updates. I would have bought this body if I didn’t pick up the D7200 last year.
In comparison to the D500 though, I’d rather have the D500. With the same button layout as Nikons professional line up, it makes sense to train yourself for when you’re ready to step up to D5 territory
good job!
