I would never pay $2,000 for an APS-C camera. Thus, this seems to be a better deal than the D500.

I think this whole thing is just about economy. People who want the D500 but thinks it’s too expensive so here it is they gave you an affordable version. Nikon is at fault for naming it D7500 it should be like what Jared says the D500L as for D500 Lite. People should stop ranting and keep their 7200 if they just shoot stills. This camera is designed for wildlife and sports camera enthusiast.

I was planning to buy the D7200, but the D7500 is will this be guaranteed on the market, because I’m going to take the photograph to a higher summit and see it not only as a hobby, but also a little extra income in secondary occupation, I had the D5200, as a beginner, I am now at a higher level, but not yet high enough to take an FX camera, I’m still not at the level professionally.

I loooove my D500, came from a D7100. Sports and low light are fantastic, which is great if you have kids doing sports, drama, etc. Don’t fret about 3000 fewer megapixels, the sensor is fantastic and sensitive with less noise. However, the lack of a flash, especially one that can command off camera flashes has been a small issue for me.

You cant shoot older lenses with the D7500, but you can with D7200… You have 2 slots SDHC in D7200 but only one in D7500.. + more downgrades.. But.. D7500 is “just as” expensive as a nice used D500.. I would take the D500 any day above this downgrade. I think Nikon is in deeper shit than they want to admit to be honest.

Jared – the AF unit in the D7500 is not the same as in the D500 – it’s the same as that in the D7200, MultiCam 3500FXII – and the D500 is MultiCam 20K – big difference.

I understand all of the arguments here but I honestly believe that this is a wonderful opportunity for students (such as myself) that might not quite have the funds for the D500 but want a good quality body. I realize that it’s only a few hundred dollars off of the D500, but that difference could buy a months worth of groceries and gas or in some places even a month of rent. It is really annoying that it has less of a battery life. And the “issue” with not having a second card slot isn’t really that annoying. At least for myself. Granted, I’m still not sure if I’m going to purchase this one or if I’m going to purchase the D750 or D500, but I really do think that this is a great option.

Jared, you hit it on this one, skip the d7500, aka d500 lite and either buy better glass and keep your d7200 or get a d500 or move up to a full frame, I have a D500 and a D750, so my next interest would be in a D810 replacement, unless they pull a D810 lite move and if they do, I will seriously start to look at Fuji, who is providing usable features through Firmware updates.

Let us not forget. Nikon has already stated that it will be streamlining it’s DSLR range and concentrating more on the ‘higher end’. Everyone is ‘assuming’ that this is the D7200 replacement. ( This is the D5600 replacement ) When it ‘hits the shelves’ in June/July, Nikon will then officially DITCH the D3xxx and D5xxx lines. Has the penny ‘dropped’ yet ? The D7500 is now Nikon’s … ENTRY LEVEL DSLR … hence NO ADDITIONAL GRIP … and the single card slot, smaller battery, etc, etc …Later in the year, the price of the D7500 will have dropped to around the $1000 mark. We now have a $900 to $1000 price gap between the D7500 and the D500 … Nikon will then ‘unleash’ the D350 on the world. ( The ACTUAL D7200 replacement ) A slightly ‘detuned’ D500, priced at about $1500 – £1600. As for Full Frame ? A ‘detuned’ D5, the D10 … an updated D810, the D900 … and an ENTRY LEVEL D750 update. So, there you have it … Nikon’s new ‘HIGHER END’ DSLR range. As the ENTRY LEVEL DSLR in Nikon’s “NEW” range, the specs and ( $1000 ) price are actually … not that bad ! !

Do you FOOLS not know that the “Spec” on a camera does NOT take good pictures.
HINT… If you give a Nikon D3400 to a genius it will take stunning pictures..
If you give a Nikon D5 to a fool with too much money.. It will take RUBBISH pictures.
Please STOP wanking over the spec on camera’s … THEY ALL have enough pixels now OK!
Yes it was important in the “Early days” of DSLR camera’s ..The jump from a Nikon D40 to a Nikon D7000 was LIGHT YEARS … However the Jump from a Nikon D7200 to the Nikon D7500… IS NOTHING!
PLEASE STOP WANKING OVER THE SPECS ON DSLR CAMERAS… THEY ALL HAVE ENOUGH FUCKING MEGAPIXELS IN 2017!
Edit..Will be interesting to see if he has the balls to leave this “Truth bomb” of a comment on, OR will he be a coward and delete it off… Time will tell!
