I almost choked on my matzos when I saw there is only 1 SD card slot… that’s crazy. And I’m curious if both the .jpg and RAW image quality are noticeably improved.

I would say this is an upgrade from a D7200 just because sensor tech has come so far in the last couple of years but with no second memory slot and no contact points for a battery grip I would not get this- I’d spend the extra on a D500.

hmm… even if, i’ve a nikon gear currently, in theory, specs for specs, i prefer get a fuji xt20 for the similar price. they’re both good, but i guess than i’ve better results with the fuji then this nikon d7500. in theory, only.

Maybe its just me, but it seems like the 5xxx/7xxx cameras have nothing important to offer me from upgrading my 3300. Maybe better noise performance, but id rather not give up my 24mp

Junk. I’ll stick with my D7100. What Nikon should have done is take what people love about the D500 and GH5 and put all those features in a $1200-$1600 camera. Lets face it, NOBODY buys a GH5 for photography but imagine if we could have this camera with all the GH5 features on a bigger APSC sensor. At the VERY least they could have added built in image stabilization for those of us Sigma ART lens fans. And everyone shooting on APSC should have the 18-35 f1.8 by now. Surely Nikon is aware of this. Sorry Nikon. I love you but you came up extremely short. There is no reason for anyone in the 7000 series to upgrade to this. We are best off saving our money and just get the D500 directly and push our level properly than wasting money on what is obviously a half-ass attempt to get us loyal 7000 series fans to spend money again.

I’m not sure that I get the point of this camera …. they lowered the resolution, and removed one of the card slots from the D7200 and added a little bit of high iso performance …. why did they even make this camera? This is the kind of silliness that is killing their profit margins.

I’m a D750 owner I started out about 6 years ago shooting images I now get about half of my enquiries for video. I’ve been shooting 1080p. Nikon needs to realise that hybrid photographers are a growing market. Im waiting for the D750 replacement to see what they do. If they do nothing that is useful then sadly I’ll be selling my equipment and moving to Sony.

You can need 50 or more shots. A month or two ago I was shooting a building being imploded. I started shooting when I heard the explosions and it took a couple of seconds to see any movement in the building. And it took a few seconds for the building to come down. I was shooting at 6 frames per second and I probably shot over 50.
