Its not the successor to the d7200… Stop spreading misinfo…
I have the D7100 and in spite of its buffer…I just love it.
I use Fuji and Olympus. I don’t give a damn about the D7500.
Looking at the updated Nikon website to me shows what the strategy will be going forward. D500 and D7xxx users won’t see the value in the D7500, but D5xxx and D3xxx users will. They get better autofocus, better ISO, 4K video, compatibility with screw drive AF, and 8 frames/sec. The new strategy and price levels make sense if you only take it from the bottom up, start with a D3xxx/5xxx, get more serious and bump up to any D7xxx and then go pro with the D500. I already went from a D3300 to a D7100 and can see the D7500 being appealing if I hadn’t already upgraded.
Think the point about battery life is a bit misleading. Like in a computer, if you put in a stronger processor it needs more power. And considering that the D500 does not have an inbuilt flash the actual battery life is probably the same, and I haven’t seen anybody complain about the battery life of the D500. And for a second card slot there must be a reason that Canon doesn’t put one in on the 80D – practically nobody needs it with today’s big cards which function flawlessly.
The big problem with the D7500 is that it didn’t get the af-system from the D500. With the faster frame rate and bigger buffer compared to the D7200 an upgraded af-system should have changed the game.
typical of this channel — obnoxious and undeformed presenter.
For the Price there really is no bright side for this camera.
Battery grip compatibility is also removed.. I’m concerned that the D810 replacement will be a big disappointment…
all which I see, every time in your videos is that you bought new cameras ..again and again…without any result..!!!
you can get a used d500 for about $1300 now so this is not a good look
Nikon blew it on that 7500. just buy a d7100 or 7200. Better yet buy a refurb d500 or a used d500. I do not see where the 7500 fits in anywhere.
Here is my thoughts. Being that they pooped on the battery life, dropped the 2nd SD slot and took out the focus motor to use with older lenses I would have just dropped the D7500 and came out with a D7200 converted into a “M7000. Yep a mirrorless version of the D7000 series and make it really compeat with Fuji XT-2. But…….what do you think?
a good upgrade for D5000 series users. but yes for any one using D7000 series this wont apeal. because the sensor and image quality is same
You’re not wrong. This is not an exciting new camera and this is NOT a direct replacement to the D7200, it’s just a new camera. People buying this are either new to the line or moving up from point & shoot. If you are a current D7200 owner you are basically being told; if you want to move up, get a D500.
Simple comment…they screwed up. Lost AI index ring, no accessory battery port. Lost SD card slot. Plastic body. 20MP vs 24. I just don’t get it, aside from the fact that they feel that they made the D7200 too good (it was the premier APS-C in 2015 until the D500). Considering that Nikon cannot afford mistakes, I am worried. I started my career with an FG-20 that I still own.
the 2nd slot and AI lens compatibility were main selling points plus lack of battery grip, back button focus and plastic body.
AFAIK it has no focus motor anymore… a lot of great old and affordable AF lenses turn to be manual focus lenses for this camera…
I am not impressed with nikon 7500. I am using the Nikon D7000. I am upgrading to either Nikon D750 or Nikon D500. I might considered nikon D7200. But for overall performance and features. Either of the first two I mention.
trouble is you buy this then say in a year want to upgrade you loose a fortune ,might as well go for the D500.
Nikon are just robbing their customers and thats how you loose them, i have loads of nikon lenses so stuck unless i take a hit so will stay but will be looking for a used D500 and a used D4.
For my money and trying to find value, I would save up some money and get a used D500 for about $1,400 instead of buying a $1200 D7500. I have a D3100 and a D7100. Bought the D7100 used for $800 (3K @ shutter count).
