thanks for the awesome work on the channel, i truly enjoy your videos and presentation style which is quite refreshing really from the rest of youtube photography channels . I am a beginner photographer and I’m hoping to upgrade from using point and shoot and cellphone cameras to a better level to improve my photography. I’m kinda divided between the Nikon d5600 and the canon eos t7i as my next camera. i also loved the style and features of the omd em10 mark III ( with the exception of the 16mp sensor) as well. I mainly shoot landscape and portraits, action and sport photography are not my thing to be honest , 4k video also is not a big concern and i was hoping to get your advice on which camera to choose or if you have a better suggestion. My budget is 800$ so all three falls close to that figure. sorry for the long writing and please accept my deepest gratitude.
Superb review, thank you 😉
great review sir !, very informative
Hi Maarten, excellent review is usual, very detailed and well explained. I am in the process of updating my current gear, so I am analysing carefully the most appealing alternatives to my photography style (70% photography and 30% video of my time) within the Fuji XT2/XT20, Olympus E-M1 Mk.II or Nikon D7500. Can you help?
Hi Maarten! I literally JUST bought a Nikon D7500, and it’s doing me wonders (I’ve worked with Nikons and Cannons in high school before, so it’s nice to have one of my own finally). Thanks for the video! It’s REALLY helping me out.
I do gotta ask (and this goes out to anyone else who might have had this problem), there’s one set back that is really inconvenient for me: for some reason, when I am shooting 4k, I can’t record longer than 30 seconds, because then I’ll get a “recording interrupted, please wait” notification. Is this a normal thing? Or is there anything I should do?
For those who are confused about upgrading to this camera like myself, Martin’s this great review promises clarity.thanks
Such a great review! For me as a student with limited budget, this camera seems like the best option as I want to upgrade my old d90. Don’t want to make the switch to the FF sensor yet since i would have to change my crop lenses. Considering this situation I think this is the best value to money I could get, might as well get it on the upcoming Black Friday.
Could you make a video just to highlight the differences between the d7200 and d7500?
I want to complement you on the methodical approach you take and all the relevant details you have covered. I am a very keen Nikon user, but got frustrated with Nikon’s lack of allowing on the fly adjustments to Aperture and Shutter during live video recordings. Has the D7500 overcome this short fall?
Fantastic video! Thank you very much.
Hello Maarten. Do you have a video walkthrough about the Snapbridge app? Gonna get the D7500 soon! 😀 Thanks!
Top work, a pleasure to watch and very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you Maarten for such a comprehensive review. I just bought this camera and was deciding if I actually liked it or not. Your video has helped clarify a few things, especially the lens. I currently use the Nikon 18-140mm (which I bought a while ago to use on my D5200, not as a kit lens). I am now thinking of buying a new mid range lens. What would you recommend I look at? Maybe the Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8G? Your advice would be appreciated.
Nov 2017. Excellend showing of camera body and settings. Switching systems now from Pentax to Nikon, have a D7500 and six lenses from my trade in plus a little more cash. All items bought used. I tried D7200 first but am happier with respnsiveness of D7500 even with my first uses and new to Nikon menu and handling. Like the revised body of the D7500. Note, lenses are DX 12-24 f/4, 24 f/2.8 D, 35 f/2 D, 55 Micro Nikkor F/2.8, AF-S 24-85 3.5-4.5 G, and AF-S 28-300 3.5-5.6 G VR. Have a Pentax KP and 8 nice lenses still, enough for a used D750 and part of price of nice fast prime. hard to let go of all that.
Thanks for the excellent video….. I am a newbie to photography, buying my first DSLR ( Nikon D5300) in March 2017. I have watched the video several times now and learn something new each time….. I do find that you navigate settings etc very quickly and I have to stop and replay quite often to grasp what is being taught….. That’s not a criticism just an observation….. My Nikon D7500 arrived yesterday so today is test day, putting into practice all that I’ve gleaned from your video. Thanks for taking the time to produce and post this video…. Regards, Ian
Your videos are fantastic. Informative and easy to follow. So much information. Maybe attach a table of contents and associated time line to find and reference various points of interest. As always, keep up the good work and keep em flying.
A clean useful review
