AFS and back button focus. Best of both worlds. Stationary subject, press to focus and release. Shoot as many as you want and because the shutter button is decoupled from focus, it won’t lose focus. Moving subject, keep the back button pressed and it’ll keep focusing as you shoot.

Hi mr.michael white we already know this why don’t you say normal lens are suitable for this camera 18-140, 18-105, 18-55, are not sharper.use prime lens like 35mm, 50mm, 85mm for great sharpness

I have my D7200 on AFA single and the square does not move when I use the directional pad. It has before and has also not moved before. Why is this happening?

Love the video just got the d7200 I’m not a complete beginner coming over from film cameras I have a question for you if I want to shoot people that aren’t moving portraits headshots what’s the best auto focus to put it in ? if my subject that I’m taking a portrait of is moving towards me and posing and turning and things like that what mode would I use to lock onto her face?

Recomposing WORKS ok when in AFC. All u have to do is to use the back button focus and to take ur finger off the focus button after u have focused on ur subject and before the recomposition.
I like ur tutorials a lot, firstly because u speak so much slower than Steve Perry, who is always on the hurry :))
