I understand all of it, but man, that d850 seems hyper-priced to me. I understand why it costs that much, but I just can’t see myself spending that much for it, personally. I’d probably just buy a couple d500s and call it a day.
Two body setup, D5 and D810.
D850 cost to performance ratio is unbeatable
the d850 is said to be the best camera in the world so why after such a short time i came across one 2nd hand
https://socameras.co.uk/shop/nikon-d850-digital-slr-body/
why would any one want to sell the camera. with under 1000 shots taken.
What do you think how the D850 compares to the D750 in terms of ISO? I’m thinking of upgrading from my D750 cameras to a D850 or D5 but I think the better ISO Performance of the D5 is what I want…
I’m shooting many weddings and events by the way…
Much newer, lol
Who are you helping out with this video..do you honestly think people looking at these cameras needs a beginners advice..and a spec run down.
This was a total clickbate video
D5 Shutter Life Expectancy – 400000 cycles
D850 Shutter Life Expectancy – 200000 cycles
I’ve been a commercial photographer for 25 years. Used to be I used a large format system, medium format and occasionally 35mm; different tools for different jobs. Great gear has always been built to last and has never been cheap. I still use a plain Nikon D3 alongside of my D810. Clients don’t see a difference in image quality but may wonder why some files are so huge. Flagship cameras are literally built to take to war. If I had problems that these cameras would solve I’d buy both; currently there’s no reason to buy either. If I needed a tax deduction I’d buy the D850 and more hard drives/a server to store/backup the huge files.
D5 is useful as a Nikon compact camera compared with D850. Still don’t understand the policy of Nikon to kill theirself top range camera. Who will get D5? neither sports probably in favour of higher (26 more) MP. D850 is not excellent only in landscape but in everything. Sports? 9 or 12 if this is the point of 3000 dollars more. their choice.
Total noob here, but I am shooting with a D500 which I see basically as a DX format D5. If I were to get a second body tomorrow, it would be the D850. But who knows? Nikon will certainly have something newer and better by the time I’m ready to move to full frame. So for now, I’ll concentrate on acquiring better glass and forget about GAS.
D850 is the one for me, thank you for your video, very helpful to me, at least.
where can i buy that headgear? :p
I use a D 810 at the moment and am starting out with wild life photography. After looking at many reviews including this one, I am more gravitated towards the D 5, for its rugged build quality and the faster frame rate. Also, since I have a D 810. Thoughts and remarks are appreciated.
Great Info – Thanks,! I would select the D850 over the D5 since I shoot landscapes and need the higher resolution. I also do Focus Stacking and love that feature built-in to the D850.
Get a Leica
I got the D850…
Portrait and event shooter using D800s. So if you could get the D5 for $5000 out the door, would that change the answer? It did for me. D5.
I used to own the d3s – really loved that camera- then I sold it and got a d810. Now I’m thinking about upgrading to d850 – but then again I would love to have a D5 in my bag. Tough decision. Really like the video capabilities of the d850 – but the high iso of the D5 could also be VERY useful. #iwantitall !!!
Great explanation!!!
