3:01 You also have to realize that you can do noise processing and that by doing that at the same effective resolution of the D5, you probably have just as good if not improved noice performance.
Just buy an A7r3
Love these videos. Keep doing them, Jared.
D850 is a lovely upgrade from my trusty old D5100
Hey great video Jared. I would get the D850 better video capabilities. – full frame UHD 4K Video rec @ 30 fps – 1080p @ 120 fps.
Being vegetarian is a missed steak
D750 with a grip is the dogs bollocks (in England that means it’s fantastic). I compared files from my D750 to that I shot with a D850 and there is very little difference. In fact, you can only tell which is which by pixel peeping. D750 is a superb all round camera that is excellent value for money.
I purchased Nikon d850
The D5 only has two things over the 850….. FPS and high iso and for 90% of pros this won’t affect them at all ……. even if I shot sports I’d get the 850 9FPS is plenty …….. maybe wedding shooters could use the high iso capabilities the most ? But for all other work I would recommend the 850 ….. and yes I have used both ….. the file quality is amazing on the 850
I have a D5, almost thought about trading it for a D850, but the D5 is built sooooo well compared to my D810.
D850, I prefer the size, and the technology more! That is really it though. Both are clearly amazing, but the D850 would allow me so many more options.
The question is : the D5 is twice better than the D815, like the price is?
I own the D810 and D500 which I consider together “my D850” (I know, together they’re still not as good). I’ve been thinking of selling my 810 to upgrade to the 850, but honestly, I love shooting the 500! Maybe I’ll do it anyway and justify it by using the FF 4K? I shoot wildlife and can’t imagine using the 850 the same way I do the 500.
And also, people thought I was crazy when I said I have a D5 for weddings, well during the day (the ceremony, blah, blah, blah) I use the D810 for the cleaner files, and higher resolution, but when it’s time for the reception the D5 comes out, better at high ISO indoor shooting, especially for the dancing where you want a higher shutter speed, and with a higher frame rate I can capture action sequences, like some drunk A-hole trying to break dance and falling on their face (true story, laughed my ass off).
D850 is the correct answer. D5 is a waste of money.
canon d80 still wins, because is the one i own.
I would definitely go with the D850 and get 2 for my production to increase.
I would go D850 because the higher MP when I’m shooting automotive (lifted trucks) I can have really good detail shots as well as have more AF points to choose from. Plus, this would be my first Full Frame camera and it’s nicely stacked with features
If I had $10k laying around dying to be spent, I’d buy one of each. Because I photograph so many different things, there are reasons I’d like to have them both. Can’t afford either right now though.
D850 even if I had all the money in the world
