The D7500 is straight out of Mordor …
Another Nikon goof. This camera confuses me more than makes me excited. I have the D7100, totally happy. Will I want to lose anything like the second card slot, and etc. The D7500 is like screwing a new light bulb in the pitch black dark. Nuts this camera. Nikon is making some odd moves where they don’t need too, but hey, it is their company. Geez.
The D7500 is obviously not targeted for experienced photographers waiting on a replacement upgrade. Its intended for newbies that wont know nothing more than just thinking they are purchasing an amazing camera because its expensive. For those who may have tax refund money on hand and perhaps looking for a cool graduation gift. Its how Nikon takes advantage of making money due to lack of photography experience. My only hope is these customers take time do do their research before buying. Perhaps purchase a D7200 or pay a bit more for the D500 because it wont take long before they outgrow this D7500. For a camera that offers 4K, having two SD card slots or at least one SD and one XQD would have been more attractive for that price point, but just one… Noooo. Lets just wait and see what Nikon releases for those waiting on a true upgrade. For now in Nikon’s lingo… I AM Disappointing
just a veiled effort to push d500 sales and the other more expensive kit.
tut tut Nikon…a shitty way to treat your loyal customer base. off to Fuji x-t2 for me.
Dreadful! What a dead duck! Nikon should be ashamed of themselves! 100 years and then THIS?! THIS!
joke camera
take a d5600 call it a D 7500 get rid of functionality in d7200 charge d7200 prices and get consumer to pay more $$$ for a d5600 you and Theoria called it right. must be trying to get rid of parts to control costs.
Huge loss for Nikon. Save for a D500
I don’t see why the designers at Nikon came out with this D7500, it is not worth buying, the D500 has so much more to offer.
There was no reason to ever release this, just none, wow Nikon, are you trying to push everyone over to Fuji!!!
Better Sensor, better buffer, better processor. It is not that bad. Snap bridge provide you with the option to backup your photos directly, so why not take that card slot out.
this camera should be pink colored!
What a disaster for Nikon. With 2 SD slots, not a new battery and $100 cheaper they have a winner. And now thousands of their customers will walk away. I’m also after 28 years of Nikon I was waiting for this camera. I’m so disappointed that today I bought a camera that has everything that the D7500 should have had. I bought a Samsung NX1 with 2.8 lenses.
Nikon really seems to have dropped the ball recently (apart from the D500). They seem to still be focusing on producing cameras a bit better than Canon without realising that Fuji and Sony are iterating so fast that if they’re not careful they will become dinosaurs.
Personally, I lost interest in Nikon years ago.
It must be sad to work at a company like Nikon and have to artificially restrict the capabilities of your products.
what a dismal failure, the 7200 direct competitor is the Canon 80D. I am really disappointed in Nikon. this camera should have had the 2 card slots, a full articulating screen. not to mention a greatly improved touch focus like canon. What were they thinking? Yes people are going to buy one, but their going to miss out on people who have a 7000-7200 and wanted something vastly improved. I couldn’t agree with your comments more. What the heck happened to Nikon?
if they screw up the replacements of the D750 and or the 810 Nikon will be in massive rupture mode. what a shame.
I got a mint used D800 for under $1000. What was Nikon thinking, oh well
I’d recommend a D7100 instead of the D7200. There is no real significant benefit over the D7100 and its only $600 new.
