Getting a new camera is always exciting. Lots of people depends on camera to do all the works so they just have to push the button. In fast action shots, there is not much choice. In most cases, you do have time to do settings. I really have to wonder, is it that much better when you do full manual settings like Matt does? Is a simple Sekonic light meter far superior than the camera’s light meter? Is setting your White Balance far superior than the camera’s white balance? And if you do both, then does the camera really makes that much ofa difference?

Even the D7100 is more pro than this crap. Come on Mark, let’s not kid ourselves. This is just a toy for someone who can’t afford the D500 – which is an even bigger waste of money. I still stand by my judgement – the D7100 is the best professional grade DX camera NIkon ever made. It improves on the D7000 without having all the enthusiast level crap that pros don’t need from the D7200. This is just cranking up the cheese to 11. Not interested at all. I love my D7100 and I will not bother upgrading until that spec sheet looks respectable and has features only a semi-pro or pro could use and appreciate. Anyone who is not making money from photography should buy a D5600.

Was really looking forward to this to upgrade my D7100, but since it removes the 2nd slot + AI/AIS indexing ring… a it doesn’t look any smaller… it’s seems great otherwise, but it’s a no deal for me… so disappointed. 🙁

One of the stupidest designs ever for Nikon. Idiots designed this one. Trying to protect the D500 market they shot themselves right square in the foot with this one. Features missing that no 7000 series camera has never been without… 2 card slots… battery grip just to name a couple. The D7000 is a better camera in many ways available used for $350 in excellent condition. Really a couple more blunders this big and Nikon will be out of business.

this is the D5700! Big fail : no second SD card slot, no Ai lenses support, no battery grip support, no metal case … I will skip this model …

Hello all! Thank you for your feedback on our latest product announcement. The D7500 packs many of the D500 features into a camera body that’s significantly smaller and lighter. Unfortunately, that means that a single card slot was used to make this camera even more compact while making room for the new internal components.

Hello NIKON. Why is the new D5700 [I said D5700] so big? Why so expensive this new D5700. And please note that you made a mistake and put the wrong badge on the camera. It says D7500. You should fix this and put the D5700 badge so that we do not get confused. And please fix the price to $699.00 as it should be. Oh, and shrink the size to the same as the D5600 as it corresponds.

Don’t trick us NIKON
If you say COMPACT, put this camera on the D5600 body.
The size of the D7500 is barely a few mm smaller than the D7200. Barely noticeable.
D7500 135.5 * 104 * 72.5 mm
D7200 135.5 * 106.5 * 76 mm
Same width D7500 and D7200. Barely noticeable height and depth difference.
D5600 124 * 97 * 70
D500 147 * 115 * 81 mm
Don’t be fooled by NIKON. Measure the difference yourself. It’s an INSULT to tell us this is a COMPACT camera.
NIKON Flopped and now is trying to fix the problem by lying to us. Don’t fly UNITED.
