Apple deliberately put too little flash memory into both M1 MACs and iPhones so that people pay more than the advertised price for sensibly configured devices. Unlike in PCs and Android phones this flash memory in Apple devices is none upgradable and expensive when you first buy the device. For example in the new M2 MacBook Air it costs £300 to upgrade from a 256 Gb SSD to a 512 Gb SSD.

This policy removed my choice when I bought a customer return iPhone last month. Almost every iPhone sold is a base model. I was therefore forced to buy a 64 Gb second hand iPhone SE 2020, whereas I would have preferred to have bought the unavailable 128 Gb model.

What about if Apple takes the ingenious engineering power and tries to implement that we can place our App icons wherever we want on the screen? Everybody is used to find a specific icon at a specific place. Thanks

None of this is actually new.
Widgets on home screens was a thing on Android before, and was removed due to clutter and stability.
Having unique lockscreen wallpapers? Not new.
Apple car play to be the cars infotainment? Android Automotive already does this in a TON of cars (not Android auto, android Automotive).
Etc etc etc
As usual. Apple knows how to build hype for old tech

What about Siri? That’s not been updated (seriously) for ages. How’s it possible that in 2022 Siri is not at least bilingual? Sure, for Americans it’s not a big issue but try to navigate in Italy while Siri speaks English only or to ask to reproduce a Spanish song… c’mon Apple, more efforts on this!

All these ‘new’ software features got me thinking.

Marcus said one time that people don’t even use tap to focus, I wonder what feature will people ACTUALLY use and ACTUALLY even know is there… Because I’ve even seen some people impressed by the existence of tap to focus, for example
