“Most in car entertainment systems suck.” Signing onto that one. You can not like how far ahead of the best Android tablet that the iPad is, but we can all agree that any tablet (android or ipad) is infinitely better than most car entertainment systems. I mounted an iPad in my old dodge dart because that shit was so awful. An uncustomized iPad did the job better and easier than a custom built UI… think about it for a second.

Just watched a video about a $100+K USD BMW with an abomination of a UI. Like – please just have Apple come build your stuff for you. Or Google. Or someone who does professional UI design. No one should pay $20k for a new car and get a shit UX, let alone $100k, BMW… It’s embarrassing trash. CarPlay and Android Auto support should be mandatory for all new cars given how shit the car manufacturers are at UI.

Apple making iOS fun is something we’ve wished iOS was for years. And yet they implemented it in a way that makes even Android makers scratching their heads. I think that lock screen alone is worth looking into and definitely put a level of customisation on iOS simply different and unique compared to Android. Ofc people will say “oh there’s an app for it” but seeing it build inside iOS itself is already a pretty big deal. This is definitely some level of customisation that iOS users yearn for.

Now that apple allows to set a different wallpaper together with a different focus mode I will have one for each of my girlfriends combined with a focus mode that blocks all calls and messages from the others. Thanks Tim!
