I hope they do, I simply cannot go back to the small iMac, the Mac mini is not what I want, the studio is to expensive when you include the display on top to get the 27 inch.
No, but they will come out with a 30-inch 6K iMac Pro.
I would love a 30 inch iMac. But, I see a Vision Display + desktop as the future.
21 is now 24, 27 will probably be 30-32.
I own a Late 2015 27″ iMac, and have been wondering about what I would get in a new computer. The idea a Mac mini and separate display is attractive to me. I like the “component” approach, separate display and processor. Thanks for the video !!!
Just buy a 27″ 1440p 144hz gaming monitor and a Mac Mini
I really wanted a new 27″ iMac to replace my 2012 ageing model, but when it became clear it wasn’t happening any time soon, I went for a Mac Mini and Studio Display. Now I wouldn’t go back – I think your point about the versatility of separate computer and screen trumps any other considerations.
Gary: Solid, Clear set of observations for All In One … likely Replace 24″ for 27″ / 30″ – w/ M-3 Chip , if at all! Likely, Fiscal 2024 earliest for the M-3 Chip set – to be installed in any box! Yet, Apple wants the consumer to buy Mac Mini w/ associated monitor! More sales (profit) structured into components basis than All In One !
I think if enough people want a 27” they will make one. I’ve downsized so I enjoy the smaller ones. Thank you, Gary! 👏🏻❤️
I still have my 2007 iMac, and my 2015 iMac; I’m disappointed that they both have good-looking and still usable screens (esp. the 5K) but I can’t use them for normal uses anymore. So, when MacOS upgrades stopped for the 2015, I went the Studio/Studio Display route. I can see possibly updating the Studio one more time in my lifetime, but hopefully that’s the last monitor I ever buy.
So, I wouldn’t care if a new 27″ iMac came out. MacRumours is reporting development of a 30+” iMac, but the “rumors” are the only stories on that site I don’t read (Hah!)
I decided to buy a 5 K 27″iMac in late 2020. At the time I was thinking I would do the same in 2025 . Who’s knows? Maybe they will come out with one by then.
I’m one of the people that held off hope that the M2 27″ iMac would be revealed. But my 2013 27″ iMac finally stopped working and I got the Mac mini / Studio Display as my replacement (both at big box discounted prices). I have few complaints, other than the “elegance” of the all in one. However, now I can upgrade the Mac mini whenever I feel I’m getting too far away from the ideal and it will be a fraction of the price of buying an “all in one.”
They don’t seem to be in a hurry to even upgrade the 24” iMac, do I doubt it.
I think Apple should build a display and a Mac like the Mini that could be connected directly at the back without cables. That would solve the issues of the computer getting outdated or having a second device that needs connection via cable.
Enjoyed your video. Hope my Apple 2019 27″ screen last forever. Love it and would hate to move to a smaller screen.
When I first moved from Windows to Mac, I bought the 27″ iMac with a SSD inside for storage. Still use it, really like it. My eyesight is not what it used to be so I LOVE the screen. Eventually I added a MacBook Air for some portability but I use the 27″ iMac 97% of the time. I can adapt if I’ll have to buy a different configuration at some point but I’ve really enjoyed this iMac.
My reason for wanting a larger display is not higher resolution. I just like a physically larger display for my old eyes. When I moved from my 27″ iMac I bought a Mini and a 30″ 2K display. The Visio display was only about $250 and I don’t think (for my purposes) I’d change it as I move up in the Mac Mini family over time. Not a gamer, so… No, I wouldn’t buy a 27″ iMac for any reason.
Gave up waiting on a new 27 r large. Bought a 24. It’s okay just wish it had larger screen. Had a 27″ 2015. Mini studio display is not appealing. My 77 year old eyes need large screen
The longer the 24-inch stays at M1 and doesn’t get updated, the less likely a new version or a 27-inch seems. I think the replacement for the M1 iMac was the M2 Mac Minis.
I love my 27″ iMac and hope they come out with another 27 or even the 30″ model. Hopefully soon!
