I want to use multiple monitor setup for trading, which MacBook Air would you suggest? Please don’t suggest anything other apart from Apple.
Hi its hard to decide ..Which one should I pick on this…I love video editing but Im just making it for fun…Id checked the MBA M1 16gb ram and MBA M2 8gb ram and they are on the same price…and I dont know what to take and sacrifice..Im sure M2 is a better chip but 16gb is a better ram …which one of them could do better in video editing specially in 4k ..Thanks…
@Apple How about a compromise: An M1 chip in the chassis of the new M2 Macbook Air with hopefully even better battery life. I would buy it without hesitation.
4:35 do you know the difference between staring at a 16.7 Million- (old Air) or a 1 Billion color screen (new Air)?
Cutting corners would not be wise, since the human body reacts completely different to “more natural” viewpoints.
I have a 13″ mid-2014 8GB Macbook Pro which is not performing great these days, and I’m not a fan of the wedge shape, so I’m going for the M2 Air
Where did you get all those cool stickers?
I’ve waited for 2 years to buy my first brand new macbook and i’m really confused on which one to buy. I’m a programmer and a student at the same time, so the tasks shouldn’t be so much heavy for the classic routine. I was thinking about this macbook air m2 like one of the greatest options for my necessities. Can anyone tell me if there’s a better choice instead of the actual macbook air m2 for the specified tasks?
Thanks for this video Mark. How does the M1 chip perform against BIM/Infraworks softwares where your designs are in 3D?
Thank you for a wonderful video! It was curiously relatable.
I’m currently in the market for my first laptop since the AMAZING 2009 Macbook Pro, which finally died after 7 years, in 2017. Since then, I have used a decked out Intel-AMD-Monterey custo-Mac desktop, which is more than enough for my creative needs, but a new laptop for on-the-go is becoming necessary.
I don’t want to go all out, because of course I already have my desktop for the big stuff, but I still want something lightweight yet powerful and roomy enough to comfortably run Logic Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects, while away from my desktop. I’m trying to decide if I should stick with the lighter and cheaper 13″ M2 Air ($1820 – 8/8/16, 16gb, 1Tb, 35wt compact), or 14″ M1-Pro ($2200 – 8/14/16, 16gb, 1Tb, 67wt). Do you think the Air will do well-enough for my needs? I’m fine with paying the extra $200 for the M2 chip.
Honestly, I think I would preferably go for an iPad, if it were powerful enough to run Logic, Premiere & AE, but sadly, that doesn’t appear to be an option, quite yet. Do you think the iPad Pro might be capable, before 2023?
What about coding w Xcode and training machine learning models?
I may be a different user than some here as I would like to change my 2017 Intel iMac for a M1 or M2 laptop. I would be perfectly satisfied with the M1 if it had a better or at least brighter screen. I watch a lot of video/movies and the screen is just too dark. I was hoping for mini leds on the M2 but the new screen is better but I can’t see spending the money for just the screen. I bought the iPad mini 6 and love it for almost all my content viewing so I think I will reluctantly stick with my old I Mac for my limited work needs for a little longer.
have you had m2 air in your hands? I thought so.
I have the M1 MacBook Air (Space Grey). It does everything I need. It’s the best laptop for the price. IMO for the average user (writing essays, powerpoint presentations, applying for jobs, media consumption etc) – it’s not worth upgrading anymore. The upgrades are incremental at best. Plus the laptop notch is not for me. Great video btw.
Photography/video editing on the go, ie when travelling abroad. Light & powerful. Stunning 1 billion color screen & ready for usual calibration. With full versions of C1/FCP. Bye bye iPad+keyboard and its limitations. M2 MBAir is an obvious choice. Completing MBPro 16 at home with an external screen. External SSD for backup & bridge between machines. Voilà
Tempted but, not sure. Can Air handle Premiere Pro FCP and Logic Pro for youtube Iphone video’s.
M1 Macbook air 8gb is the Toyota Camry of the laptop world. It’s not economy, but its not expensive and it will last a decade or more.
M2 is the Lexus version.
Its for suckers!!! 🙂 Just wait for the M2 Ultra/Max/Pro etc.
Very rational and intelligent advice. I’m a person who feels AIR is for students and small business users. I’m not sure why ppl would even consider using AIR for 32 GB or 1 TB specs. It’s more of a PRO sector of users. AIR is for KIDS. Please don’t “advise” $1600 for an AIR to students or business users who don’t game or do engineering. LOL….
A re-release of M1 chip at a higher price after 2 years.
Can’t decide whether to get the Air M2 or macbook pro. I edit on Premier pro…. I prefer the air as it’s smaller but need something powerful enough for editing.
