I use mid 2010 MacBook Pro, 500gb ssd and 16gb ram. Wish I could upgrade to new OS X but still works amazingly.
I use Apple products (my XR for example) but i like Windows more then MacOS.
ponele catalyna
I have one. We use it at my company as nightly test build server for our apps. With 16gb it even good enough to run windows/linux/android in virtual machines. Physically it was without doubt the best notebook i ever had. So sad Apple unsupported it so early for Mojave.
It is FREAKIN’ heavy
my 2012 macbook pro still kicking. yes its had an upgrade to 8gb ram from 4gb, and an SSD installed. those two things right there brightened its life. but maybe next year I’ll upgrade. no reason so far plus I like its aesthetics.
How is ist possible to run a YT Video in 4K on an HD Display? My 2017 iMac can run only 4K videos but not 8k.
The speaker is a mono speaker. The 15” and 17” version have stereo speakers.
My 2011 runs like a beast <3
I used a 2011 13″ Pro for years with no issue, great little macbook. I think the 2011 15″ version is not so great though. Some flaw in the graphic chip or something. Many of them go bad and the repair cost is too high to be worth fixing.
I have a late 2011 macbook pro 17″ and for some reason it doesnt let me upgrade to catalina, im stuck with Mac OS X. It doesnt let me download any app at all bc the software is too old. Does anybody else have the same problem or a solution for this?
Guys I need help is there a reason why I can’t log in my iCloud ID to my 2011 pro
I have an Aluminum Unibody from late 2008 and with an SSD and a bit of RAM it is still going strong!
I still use mine Macbook Mid 2009. RAM upgraded to 4GB, HDD upgraded to SSD 1TB. And also new battery. OS X 10.11 El Capitan. It works for nice for webbrowsing

I still have my 2014 MacBook Pro and it is still chuggin’
Have you updated to High Sierra or kept it at Sierra? Does it get software updates?
You should be able to upgrade that machine to High Sierra officially, directly from apple. It really is amazing how well older MacBooks hold up. Until very recently I was using my mid-2012 MacBook Air and to this day my sibling is still using it.
Yes, I’m using a 2013 Macbook Pro
i was still doing this until last month
considering 95% of people who buy these actually aren’t designers or professional artist and just watch youtube at starbucks then yeah.
I had a 2007 Macbook Pro for 9 years till it gave out on me. And so I sold it and now I’m using a mid-2012 Macbook Pro with 16gb of ram and 1T SSD. I plan on taking out the optical drive and replace it with a second SSD storage. I heard you can turn it into a Raid-0 to boost performance. Is that true? and will it erase my main SSD by turning the second drive into a Raid?
