I have a MacBook Pro 2011 and works flawlessly! Love it, but as you mentioned some features would not update like having a OneDrive. I will keep using it or give to one of the kids before getting rid of it.
i use my 2011 macbook air 13 inch and 2017 macbook pro the 2011 i use the least but, it runs very smoothly thats pretty good for me already

Im still rocking the 2011 MB Pro in 2022. Doing some football editing videos for my son. Can anyone point me towards some good user friendly programs. I have been using Imovie 9(latest version it will allow) but it lacks functionality. Like being able to highlight him on the field pre-snap with a circle or something. Any input is appreciated. Thanks,
I have a 2011 Macbook Pro, which I bought around 2016, refurbished and actually loaded with programs. It might have cost around $1000-1200, or so. I am currently trying to decide whether to replace the hard drive, since it has pretty much had it. The computer guy recommended I don’t, but after looking around at newer ones, I just love this model. The ports are worth it right there and like others said, keep it around for lighter tasks. For about $400, I can have a new SSD in there and run things like Office, Pro Tools, and FCPX. After watching this video, I have a new appreciation for how awesome this machine has been to me. It got me through film school, I’ve edited tons of videos on it, recorded tons of music in Pro Tools, and generated countless Word and Excel files. I just bought a new iMac last year, so I am also not too interested in buying a $2500 Macbook, then the hubs and all the bullshit to make it work with everything I need to plug into it. Right now, my 2011 doesn’t owe me a dime and I think it’s time to give this thing a third life. Thanks for the video.
Could you recommend any ssd’s that you would recommend?
is it possible to buy an Apple OEM battery and install it yourself? If so where do you buy it. I wouldn’t trust Amazon or Ebay. All i hear is how horrible the batteries are. The Apple Store battery cost $130. That’s more than the macbook is worth. But if i can get more than 2 hours from it for 3 years i’d be happy.
I use Linux on these laptops and with a SSD they run very well. Frankly, I’ve never been a big fan of MacOS and while with a patcher this can run the latest from Apple it will tax tax the CPU.
Use Light Room try Darktable. Photoshop? GIMP is great. If you use this for basic web browsing or light office work, etc. you’re good.
Do you know if this customizable 2011 computer would recognize 16 GB of RAM?
Does anyone know if a retina display could be installed on it? Has anyone tried to frankincense it?!
No, just get a Chromebook. A 2011 MBP is only good for being a thin client at this point.
i just got hold of 2011 MacBook Pro today for $125 in Canada. its my first ever mac laptop i ever own
seems like my mac don’t like SSD 1tb it crashes every second reboot
and until now. I’m still using this Mac for my daily productivity. thank you..

Is the 2011 Macbook lineup the last one introduced under Steve Jobs?
Open Legacy Patcher can upgrade this laptop to Monterey, but in my case it lags quite a bit, Catalina is still fine.
Hi, How can I install NVME drive in my MacBook Pro 2011
We have ours today for the same reasons you mention in this vdeo. Great job!
