the 2011 I’m typing on is VERY slow getting on the internet when turned on. I usually put in on sleep, except when I need to put it away.
How much is it
I used 2011 i7 MacBook Pro editing 6k raw footage at 2021
I cant get my cd player to work. it goes in but ejects. is there any fixing that?
getting this laptop as a collectors item lol next im headed for the rare black mac from 2009
Still using my Macbook Pro 2011 with i7 processor. After a defect CD drive I replaced it with a bay + 500GB SSD disk + doubled the RAM and since performance has been fantastic. During the years I’ve had my issues with batteries that needed to be replaced, but also there, for a while this has been stable. The only thing that sometimes bothers me is the fan noise, especially if I have to do audio recordings in the same room. The amount I have spent on upgrades has been only a fraction of what I would have needed to invest in a new system. Checking always out the new systems that come on the market, but it feels confortable not to be in a hurry and be able to wait for the next model, that will obviously always be even better 🙂
does anyone experience enormous heat problem with i7, 13” version 2011 mbp? Even safari makes fans go crazy..
macOS High Sierra was the last supported OS, not Sierra
Still using mine till this day, Got me through highschool, Collage and been all over the world with me, and still strong af. Sad they don’t make these anymore built like this
Still rockin one of these bad boyz 😎. Upgraded ram to 8gb and a 525gb SSD. It has some limitations (like pretty weak video editing) but other than that, 95% of tasks it can still do quickly. Editing pictures is still works well too
10.13 is highest os not 10.12
I have, coincidentally a 2011 MacBook Air. I upgraded to a SSD and a new battery and it works fantastic! The butterfly keyboards are so superior to the new one’s it’s not even close. Also, the magsafe power is just so sweet and superior to a USB type C plug in power cord. I have a new MacBook Air and it’s excellent too but it’s ironic that some of the “improvements” were not that at all! Would love to see you do an update of the MacBook Air from 2011 or the MacBook Air 11.6″ which I think are also outstanding deals today. Great review!
I gave away the MacBook because I couldn’t update it after leaving it out for ages now seeing tutorials on how to update it and regret it so much
just got my 2011 Macbook pro with the SSD and 1 TB storage preinstalled. It’s my first Mac so the learning curve is a little rough for a grandpa. But your video was good and easy to understand…and made me feel even better about my purchase.
I love my MacBook Pro 2011. Unfortunately, Office 365 no longer loads to it and iCloud is terrible in saving temp Word docs (I lost a month of a book I’m working on) so have had to upgrade to MacBook 2020. But otherwise it remains a great machine.
Office 365 have stopped working on Sierra, since 2021.
I love my Macbook pro (late 2011). An amazing machine. It still looks great (despite heavy use) and does 80-90% of what I need without overheating (I changed to SSD).
I wish the newer models of MacBook pro had the keyboard of the 2011 version.
I love this machine, combine with 256 GB Samsung SSD dan 16 GB RAM
enjoyed the video, any suggestions on un-sticking a shift key that’s stuck.
you can make these MacBooks even better by updating to Catalina using the dos dude patcher (only if you have an ssd) which means you can run newer apps and it runs the same or very similarly than High Sierra
