I cannot believe I found one MacBook Pro 2011 (i5-2415M) and. Bunch of other laptops thrown on the nature strip. Conveniently only the MacBook has its charger hahaha.

and more satisfy using 2011 than 2019 model.
You know that 2011 more durable than 2019 for heavy tasks

I bought a 2011 MacBook Pro for $100, great condition. Replaced the battery, installed an SSD, upgraded RAM, installed Catalina, runs smooth!

i currently use a 2011 17 inch sandy bridge intel core i7 macbook pro with disabled amd graphics. I upgraded the ram to 16gb, put a 240gb ssd with a 1tb hd in the place of the super drive, and honestly it’s still way better than a lot of way newer windows laptops

I’ve got a late 2011, i7. I’ve replaced the battery, upgraded the RAM (again) to 16gb, 2TB SSHD, dual-booting w/ Win10 – it was a *hassle-and-a-half* getting win10 (officially unsupported, but original forced upgrade worked fine) back after upgrading the hard drive.

I’m a windows user with a daily driver desktop. I did all the upgrades over 4 years ago, then went a year without using my macbook…. Suddenly it is super slow and freezes.

I’m debating whether it’s worth the hassle to reinstall the operating systems [I don’t even remember how I managed to work around the unsupported windows 10 reinstall]

I would only use it for web browsing and documents from the couch instead of the office, purely for comfort and convenience

Already backed up everything, but afraid to even put in the hours if it ends up not being worth it /possible

The highest it get was the MacOS High Sierra which is support on the mid 2010..and yet it’s quite stable for the MacBook to runs on late 2009/mid 2010/2011 pro.

I am still using my 2011 MacBook Pro 15” today. Over time I have upgraded to a 1tb ssd, 16gb memory, a new battery and recently a “new” screen. I’d love to upgrade it, but it works fine for everything that i am doing on it right now. I still run Microsoft office, fcpx, and the adobe cs6 (all programs), and quick books. It’s my main work computer and i still wont give it up even in late 2021.

I am running the 2011 using OS High Sierra 10.13.6 with 16gb Ram and a 2TB SSD, I run Logic for Music production work and the fans go ballistic….OFTEN…..even if I open OBS and teach music online it does the same thing……., raging fans…. anybody have a cure for this pleez?

I have the same MacBook (Early 2011, 2.7Ghz Intel Core i7, Upgraded to 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, 1TB Samsung SSD & 1 TB OWC SSD (replaced the E drive) was expecting my mac to run like new but i realized it gets laggy if I open multiple programs at a time but still snappy when I run a single or two applications. Wondering if I over upgraded my mac 😂😂

I converted my macbook pro 2011 to WD 240GB SSD and the result is just wow.. Everything is blazing fast. Starts in seconds and ready to rock!

I still use 2 2011 macbook pro’s with 16gb ram and ssd’s for DJ’ing and if i have an issue i can quickly swop the SSD’s and run patchers for Catalina. They run great and handle all i need to do and i have the option to go for larger storage on them if i need to. They are good but i have to say i did have the graphics issue so both are now running of the Intel graphics but i did get one of them for free because of this. When you know how to make them use the intel card it’s really not an issue. Overall they have saved me a lot of money over upgrading to newer laptops and earn money too so it’s all good.
