So i have one and have upgrade the ram to 16GB and SSD, it’s still running so well and fast, but often times the fan sound is quite strong

With those 2 upgrades, is it make sense to buy new m1 macbook pro 2020, entry level?

The ram is downgraded to 8GB, get less port, so i don’t see it’s a sure upgrade

U can buy a avita laptop for 376 dollars it has 476gigs of storage and has a ryzen5 3500U and Amd vega8 graphics model is NS14A6 so it is very affordable buy it and make a rewiew on it Thanks

Just got a macbook pro late 2011 version has i5 with 8gig 1333 ram upgraded to 16gig. had 500gig hitachi hard-drive upgraded 500gig samsung red-drive no issues. when I got the macbook it had LION on it with no updates Yikes right!!! Now running Sierra. ZZzzz never owned a mac b4 learned so much in just a few days. Since upgrades Ive noticed I’m limited to what I can download from the app-store shame-on APPLE. need a MAC version of Microsoft office WORD and PowerPoint on Sierra 10.12.6.

I had the exact same base model, but I still had the same heat issue after I swapped my hard drive to an ssd and change rams. Some say it’s because the cable connecting the ssd to the motherboard isnt designed to be used for ssd(?) I only use it for browsing and sometimes playing the sims 2

I have a 2011 iMac and I still haven’t upgraded. The hardware is okay. The software is extremely limiting I have an iPad Air 4 and I was crushed to realize you need a 2016 Mac to use sidecar and MacOS Catalina. Newer software is important to me. I have a mid 2011 iMac so I can only run High Sierra. I am a student so I really need important softwares like Keynote, Pages and Word. Being a student I can not afford an upgrade

Yeah, I am writing from the same laptop with upgraded ram to 16gb and 1 tb ssd makes it a usable daily computer. However, it is not worth getting in 2021. If you already have it then it may be worth upgrading. Especially, if you are not happy with the changes apple has made in the recent models. It can’t be on the latest OS anymore and it will soon be a security issue when updates stop coming in for Catalina. Don’t fool yourself thinking your old device is as good as a cheap new one. It is kinda cool to be computing on a 10 year old computer, but it is still a 10 year old computer.
