Does it overheat easily still?
Hello, can you please advice me what video editor can I use for this macpro 2011. Thank you
i have a 2011 just like this one here, i have upgraded the mem to 8gb and the hard drive to 700gb sata disk. only complaint is that i cant update it to the newest os x, it runs hot and my R button pops up sometimes. All that being said I its still runs like it did in 2011. However i did just purchase the new macbook pro 2020 and i’m awaiting its arrival.
I have a Macbook pro 2011 passed on to me by my dead uncle back in 2013. I’d say this thing is a freaking beast, it’s very durable and survived an accidental drop, it had very minimal damages (excluding the screen) and yet it still runs very well. I wished apple created laptops this durable.
Hello 👋 i have a question . I was thinking if This Macbook Pro 2011 is still way better than any other 2020 Windows laptop. Thankyou 😊
i have same mac so i have question is which os is compatible with this mac os sirea or high sierra
ssd upgrade is huge, trying to go 16gb ram…we’ll see
tl;dr of course it is fine as a secondary device, hence why you purchased a modern 16″ variant. Use what you have. No need for so many videos with so many minutes dragged out only to say…you can only use what you have and if you want to try it…go for it! Finite!
I have a 2011 15′ mbp but by 2016 i had the logic board replaced under apple’s recall program, but then by 2018, it seemed to have failed again with blue screen lines issue. Thinking of having it repaired in a local computer repair shop? Do you think its worth a shot? Also maybe have the hdd replaced with an ssd and upgrade the ram.
Thank you for giving this old device a review in 2020. After >8 years of using my MBP A1278, I FINALLY had some work done to it for the first time last week. Pretty much still with all of its original hardware, except for replacing the keyboard and WiFi chip. No significant upgrades to its internal, be it memory or storage. The only software upgrade I’ve had done is installing the MacOS High Sierra. This baby is a beast in terms of durability. I do hate the speaker quality, but Brandon gave a good solution which is to plug in an ear/headphone. Will probably take me another year or two to save up and get myself a new device, considering how pricey the newer Macbooks are. But for now as a daily driver, it still does the job for me.
No, just don’t
I’m still using my macbook pro early 2011 and idk how to insall photoshop, can you give me tips on how to install it?
SSD 500gb 16gb ram and still going
How many fans does this have?
I like those macbooks for their upgradeability, but they are SO heavy compared to the retina macbook pro, i have a weaker back and though i love to tinker with hardware, i couldn’t handle the weight anymore, the retina is so much thinner and lighter, ok, you lose the ability to upgrade, but with 8gb of ram and the ability to upgrade the ssd, its not so bad, but the screen, man, that screen, so much better, you can’t go back to a macbook like this after using a retina
“$150” it is now september 2020, i decided to look into getting one, the average price of a i5 2011 macbook with a stock hdd and 4gb ram is $250-350!!! did the price inflate or am i just looking at the wrong ebay? XD
Wait can i use mine for gaming i have the same macbook but i7core
i’m planning to get the macbook pro 13″ soon!
Using a 2011 late macbook pro with i7 processor, 250GB SSD, and 16GB of RAM. I’ve replaced the keyboard on two separate occasions and it’s still running great. Battery lasts over 3 hours still.
after job death apple stopped their innovation
