You are so lucky… My 2011 i7 had the known GPU issue last year… A new one cost a bomb…
People in my country still want around 600€ for a almost 10 machine.
I still use a 2011 13″ MBP for my day to day job – software development incl building on virtual machines. Upgraded RAM and SSD makes it work great. You got a couple things wrong in your video though – a) 2011 MBPs will support High Sierra not just Sierra; b) they use a scissor keyboard, not butterfly.
Im using my late 2013 macbook pro 13 inch (512 ssd) and i am still happy. maybe i would upgrade to an new 14 inch macbook pro.
haha ive had my MacBook Air for 4 months and I’ve never shut it down haha
I have a MacBook Pro Late 2011, i7, 16GB of RAM and SSD. For work like developing Apps, Internet, Office, among other things, it is sensational. OS Catalina.
still using my macbook pro 2008, with a SSD, and it still works ok.
2015. Still holding up great
I actually STILL use my MacBook Pro 2,7 GHz bought early 2011. Now I’m stuck on High Sierra and only get Secury Patches for my system from the AppStore (no real updates for any app or OS). But last year I swapped my old hard drive for the fastest available SSD from Samsung, maxed out my RAM to 8GB and replaced the old battery for a new one. Conclusion: It’s faster than ever and serves my daily needs still very well: Working on my University stuff, Apple Music, synching my iPhone, browsing the web and light video editing in iMove. All still works VERY well and even kinda fast. I might upgrade to a new 13inch MacBook Pro (when it comes out) or to a MacMini (when the 8th Intel Chipset gets updated). Or maybe I’m still happy for a while with my current setup. Still serves my need pretty well and I’m impressed how awesome this machine still is – even in 2020.
I have 2017 mac book pro base edition 128 GB
AND lately it’s so slow some time it freez and take five minutes or so to return back for working I’m really going to sell and buy windows laptop
Good to know my 2015 Pro is gonna be fine for another few years then
when this is actually your laptop you use on a day to day basis😐
I still have one ….. great memories related to it ……
As long as it works keep it that’s what I would do
Love my late 2011 17″ MB Pro. I bought the laptop used in 2013 for $1k. Its an i7; dual video card; 750GB 7200 rpm HD; mat screened version top ender. My next apple will not replace this, as a 2020 13″ iPad Pro will be an addition. I use this 17″ FAR more than our newer 2017 5k iMac. Anyway, thanks for the vid! Peace…Guy
I have a early 15 inch 2011 MacBook Pro with 16g memory 2ghz i7 with a DAC HD 6490M 256 mb graphics. Runs on High Sierra. Works for me but I think I will upgrade to an used 16” next year when the prices come down
I still use mine with 16 gig of RAM and I boot from an external thunderbolt ssd (very fast). I often control this MAC using screen sharing from my trashcan MAC Pro. This way I can use all of the ports via networking. Thanks for posting
currently on a 13in 2012 MBP with 16GB RAM and 512 GB SSD
I’m still using my macbook pro late 2011 model but i changed its battery and hard drive.
Just upgraded to SSD and 8GB RAM. I also replaced the battery. Runs High Sierra like a champ. Also running Win10 via Bootcamp. Runs MS Office like a champ.
