There’s nothing wrong with audiophilia, ‘cept when you love the gear more than the music. (I enjoy Saint-Saëns’s organ symphony through my Macbook speakers almost as much as on my Magnepan MMG’s. The latter may sound better, but regardless…)

@TeschiLP They are reference class, it says so on the box 😛 But I hear what you’re saying I have HD-800’s and HiFiMan HE-500’s and they are better.

I have a pair of cheaper AKGs I bought several years ago and have been wishing I’d bought higher in the line ever since. AKGs are just great and I can tell just from using the cheap ones I’d absolutely love the higher end ones. When it comes to these, you probably can’t spend too much.

I predict you’ll be buying more AKGs. They last too. But you definitely want to look for the ones with the replaceable cable. That’s where mine broke and I had to open them up and solder an old junk cable I had laying around on. That’s how much I liked them.

So with all my headphones I bought they would last a couple of years and finally they would die. The main reason was the cable. I need a detachable cable.

I like the look of suspension style headphones and i like how light the are but alas my head is to big and they bottom out on my head almost every time and it causes an annoying rub again my scalp

If you put a rubber band around the two things on the Audio Technicas they may fit better. Linus did it with an Audio Technica headset and he said it helped alot.
