When I play a game that had a lot of ads like the grandma one, I just put my phone on airplane mode. It works most of the time. And the 30 second ads usually can’t process, so it skips right to the end of it.

I got lucky enough to find a great therapist on betterhelp. I also attended a couple of helpful webinars, though there were others that were more questionable. BH cut me a temporary discount (was still fairly expensive) basically because I’m broke ass person of color (basing that on the questions they asked when i applied for the financial assistance portion of it). I decided to ultimately leave the platform because I could no longer afford it and realized I was experiencing mental health concerns that BH explicitly does not allow their therapists/counselors to diagnose or fully treat. When I told my therapist this, she agreed that I needed more extensive treatment than she could provide and said she also had grievances on her end and would likely not be on BH much longer herself as she felt her hands were tied to the point where she couldn’t properly service her clients. It’s a great concept, but with a heavily flawed execution. Definitely not for people who are struggling with serious mental illness, which minimizes or outright eliminates a lot of people who are actively seeking therapy. Even the good therapists- qualified, empathetic, genuine, respectful people are restricted to the point where it’s not worth it for them to be on the platform. Which just leaves the scam artists.
