In the uk, we call what Americans call the second floor, the first floor. The floor below that is the ground floor. So the game might just be British or another country with the same naming system!

When you use a measuring tape, you start with 0. When you start counting your age, you are not 1 at birth (unless you are in South Korea) Again you start with Zero (or in case of age with months). So it is not really a surprise that you count levels of a house the same way. The ground floor is, well, the ground floor. You are at zero. Then you move one up, that‘s the first floor. You move two up, you are on floor two. Otherwise all the streets and stuff would be on the first floor as well, right? That is just weird to me. Why Americans need to be different with their Fahrenheits, inches and weird floor counts is a mystery to me. 😂

I always find it funny when Americans don’t realise how different their version of English is. In Europe we have the ground floor first, when you go upstairs it’s the first floor. I’m English and I can remember as a child reading American books and getting quite confused. Now as an adult I would say most Brits can understand American English because it’s not so different really, but it’s funny when Americans get confused about British English.

Hey Greg!
What the rest of the world calls “ground floor”, is what people from the US calls “first floor”.
And the for the “first floor”, people from the US use the term “second floor”.

I hope Danny looks up how it’s in British English (or any other English for that matter). The language should take the blame in this one, not the app developers. They should be blamed for ripping off and ruining an award winning PC game though.

In the UK, we have ground floor, first floor, second floor etc. You have to go upstairs to the first floor. We also correctly include 13 in the count in taller buildings.
