bad therapists exist irl too lol yall are being very naive if you think this app is somehow specifically evil and its not just that there are a ton of therapists who are bad at their jobs, and i say this as someone with a psych degree and extensive experience with therapy IRL, you will encounter even worse shit irl

I don’t blame Danny for not knowing, but I think people should be aware BetterHelp is not great. One of the “therapists” flat out told my girlfriend they couldn’t help her and she needed to go somewhere else. They are not like your average properly licensed trauma therapists and if you struggle with things like suicidal ideation or self-harming tendencies, they will leave you in the dark for fear of making things worse by giving you advice because they’re just not actually legally equipped to handle it. It’s sad how BH has preyed on a market of mentally ill people during a time where people were scared to leave their house or simply too poor to afford proper therapy.
