Main floor and first floor is a British thing. They count by the offset from the main floor.

EDIT: I’m a software engineer, that chat bot is probably using GPT-3 to make responses and IBM’s openAI to parse your response. It’s scary when it’s less than 4 sentences, but AI is terrible at keeping a conversation without reminding it what the context is (or changing the context).

Kevin thought your name was Kevin because there were two proper nouns in that sentence that were referred to, and they’re terrible at that too. Proper Natural Language Processing and Natural Language Generation are still very far away, but with a small enough sample (such as these responses) it feels much closer than it is.

10:00 I think it’s an translation error as in my country the first floor is the first floor that isn’t touching the ground and we go up from that. So your first floor is called in literal translation the main floor and the one above the first floor.

In europe, we don’t use “First Floor” to refer to the main floor, that’s why the guy who made the first game called it like that !

Lmaoooo Danny they use that method of floor categorization in Europe…. The “main floor” is the one on the ground and is technically floor 0, so our second floor is their first hahaha

Actually, the “first floor is the second floor” thing is likely a difference of country. In Germany they call what we would call the “first floor” the groundfloor. Probably just someone who translated all of the text to English and didn’t think of cultural stuff
