So, the ‘First Floor’ thing: in Europe, what Americans call the first floor is called the ground floor and what Americans call the second floor is called the second floor.
And, yes, as a person who watches tv shows and Youtube channels from America and the UK, that is really annoying and really confusing.

The reason why it’s called the main and first floor, it’s because in other langages (like French) that’s what we say. For example, main floor = rez-de-chaussez and first floor = premier étage
