We actually call the “second floor” the first floor here in Europe and the “first floor” the ground floor or entrance floor etc.

The bad granny game must have been made in another country. When I first visited France, I was surprised to find that they usually refer to “ground” floors as 0, and one floor up as the first floor. So whoever made it must have been from somewhere that follows this logic.

Because of the floor naming in the granny game, in Europe the first floor is called the ground floor and the second floor is called the first floor. So this game might be from a European company/publisher.
