The ‘ask app not to track’ button is exactly that, they can refuse your refusal and track you anyways. It is a courtesy if they decide not to track after saying no. I believe the idea was that some apps require tracking so to forcefully not allow tracking could mess up certain apps, but now it just means you don’t have any actual input, they just make it seem like you do.

There are options out there for online therapy and therapy is a VERY helpful tool for processing your life no matter what you’re going through but please dont use betterhelp. They dont care about their users safety they are just using mental health issues as a commodity to exploit.

I wanna add I know it may not sound like a big deal because its online but when people are attempting to seek therapy for trauma it can be extremely triggering and traumatic to have someone put into the role of a health care professional who is supposed to be supportive and have your mental health in mind be insensitive, untrained or even mallicious towards you. Trauma around mental health is so common and better help literally provides a space for sadistic people or grossly untrained people to hurt individuals actually trying to seek help.
