Hey Danny, great video! Just so you’re aware, better help has a history of really unethical business practices. They grossly underpay their councillors, have very lax training and qualification standards and sell the data of app users. There’s loads of great, in-depth videos about it on YouTube.

the mommy simulation seems more like a story of a woman losing her mind. She sees the same man everywhere and questions if she’s being stalked, she struggles to complete tasks around the house (laboured movements, undercooked soup), she feels unfairly treated (undercooked soup) and fantasises about replacing her family members (pay-walled family member menu). This is a woman on the verge of killing her family or disappearing into the woods forever.

i’m sure that Danny was just unaware of the awful practices of Betterhelp but it still makes me feel uncomfortable that he didn’t research them before agreeing to partner with them. i have a lot of respect for Danny and understand people can’t be aware of everything that has ever happened, but platforming a service targeted towards an already vulnerable demographic requires a little more thought than other sponsors. i hope this isn’t a reoccurring partnership ://

Edit: Danny removed the sponsorship but is yet to address it. I’m glad he’s taking feedback from his community !

I feel like Danny didn’t linger on the creepiness of that virtual boyfriend app enough – which is fair enough since it’s just meant to be a funny video, but… If that was a real person, which it has to have been because theres no reason for an AI to misspell a made up word it was copying from you, then that means that the responsibility of chatting to an audience of little girls lies in the hands of a likely unethical business. If a little kid thinks she’s talking to a fake boyfriend in a game, it would be so easy to just tell her “You’re cute, where do you live?” or ask for private details. Especially with how willing the “AI” was to say some “vulgarity”. In fact in that very sentence it mistyped again putting that random ) in the middle of it.

There was even instances of the virtual boyfriend saying things like “I should move closer to you” and that kind of thing, which could easily bait a naive child into saying where they live. Seems weird to me! Seems suspicious and dubious!
