Third party apps should still support ios 15 for another 2 years at least. You can YouTube on ios 12 which is the oldest ios you can get the current version of YouTube on.
i think the dropped the 7 and 6s since they are made of metal which overheats more so since they get hot easier I doubt they would handle the intensity of ios 16 especially if you got the black iPhone 7
Guys the iPhone 7 will still have security updates for a few years, if you have one, keep it, until the iPhone 14 or even 15 is around, if you have a 6 year old phone you are not a guy that needs the latest and gratest and that’s a compliment, you are smart with your money, get the next iPhone and don’t feel bad if you spend a bit too much on it, get a 14 or 15 pro max with 512gb or even a terabyte , because you can hold your phone for 6+ years so it’s an investment and apps are getting huge, don’t feel the marketing pressure for the newest right now, wait a couple months at least to get a new phone even if you want to upgrade to a 13, since In September it will get a reduced price.
Apple: Makes the iPhone 7 lasts 6 years.
People: what a disappointment. It could’ve lasted 23 years.
I feel sad by iPhone 7plus,it have 3gb ram😓why apple dope the update
I don’t have that problem I have a iPhone XR
How long do you think the iPhone 11 will be receive support? I was recently at an Apple store and I was comparing my phone to the 13 and my 11 is looking dated.
Yeah, I saw the writing on the wall and knew that anything older than an Iphone 8 would not be supported any more. That is why I am biting the bullet and getting an Iphone 13 Pro…because of average size hands a 6.1″ screen is probably the biggest phone that I would be able to handle with ease, and I would be getting support for a while while saving money up after the support of the Iphone 13 Pro is done
I know for a fact that some SE users will get the SE 3 for sure. Beside that , next year it will be iPhone 8 8+ and maybe the X série …
So does this mean my beloved iPhone 8 that I only bought 2 1/2 years ago (NEW) and just had a new battery put in at the beginning of this year might only get one more year of updates?
For the iPhone 7 I could see it, In late 2019 it was struggling to load my Facebook app and I use that as a baseline for when the phone needs to be replaced. Now we don’t have the blazing fast lightning speeds Americans get for Wi-Fi even though we pay about twice as much in Canada so that could have something to do with it. But so far the 8 has been great, so I will hope for two more years and if it’s only one more year then it will be an SE3.
Why are you disappointed at that the IPhone 7 series was dropped? If not for COVID-Delta, the 7 line would have been dropped in September 2021 (the 6s line would have been dropped in September 2020). Apple extended support only for those five phones in this video because of the pandemic. Unless a strain of COVID that would dramatically alter our current course of action comes rolling in, I would not expect the 8 series or the X to get iOS 17.
These phones are old now though. I think 7+ with the 3gb ram can run like you said but then if they allowed 7+ to run it iphone 7 users would complain
My iPhone 7 is my first iPhone. I used to have it for three years until it gave up on me five months ago. Pretty great phone imo and while it’s a shame it doesn’t get supported anymore, i’m not surprised by that considering that I don’t see my 7 sticking around for a while, especially since it slowly started to have issues over time and iphones got like six or seven years of support. Thankfully, I ended up getting the much newer SE 2020. Really great phone also. I hope Apple makes more iPhones with the home button.
I. Expected the iPhone 6s 6S plus and original iPhone SE to not received iOS 16 but I was surprised to see the iPhone 7 and 7+ didn’t get it either
Nick, please run iOS 16 on 8 Plus
I just tried running the beta and it was so laggy and often got frozen screen, had to restart every time. Lock Screen customization works only when the passcode is turned off. Most of the key features like live text from photos and videos aren’t supported. Is it the end of 8 Plus?
Glad the 6S didn’t get it cause it still runs smooth if you still using it. The next iOS would have slowed it down.
respect to those iPhones😢
