Hey Max! I currently use a 2019 Macbook Pro with 32gb Ram and the Vega 20 GPU. I mostly edit 4k 60 footage with the Sony A7SIII, do you think downgrading to this M1 Macbook Air will be worth it?
Is this a base model macbook Pro m1? 8gb ram 256gb ssd?
I am deciding to buy macbook pro m1, just because macbook air m1 is always out of stock. Enlighten me. Is it reasonable to buy macbook pro m1? I really need it ASAP for my virtual world
I’m getting me a MacBook Pro tomorrow. I have to wait on the whacky IRS to send my tax refund.
My guess

Deceiving click-bait title. You can’t say “worst value” then talk about how awesome it is.
I mean the air is great if you dont need the extra specs. im a photographer and use adobe so the fans and the extra screen light actually make a difference. if youre just a normal person with a profession that doesn’t really require these specs then the air is for sure for you.
bought my first ever Mac yesterday the m1 MacBook Air and holy shit. the battery life temps speed the screen the speakers. insane. worth the 1k I spent I am now broke till payday haha.
I just got (well ordered) the M1 MacBook Pro… refurbished. I could get the 16GB RAM + 1TB hard drive for less than the air (same specs) and I thought the bonus of the larger trackpad, brighter screen & Touch Bar were worth paying less money for. I get there will be a 14” likely announced, but probably starting price of $1,799… I’d rather pay for the refurbished now and get everything I want. But I have been living a long time without a computer (just an iPad Pro) and I’m over it. I wanted it now… not maybe 2-3 months… possibly… from now. I guess we all have our reasons haha.
I disagree but only in my own use case, for others id recommend the air but I have very poor spelling and just the fact that the Touch Bar can recommend words for me as I type is a huge win! I know it mostly works best with apple software but thats mostly what I use. So for me the Pro is like the best option at least until/if they release a keyboard with the Touch Bar built in, which by the sounds of it, thats going to be never… I will really miss the Touch Bar if they do remove it.
Quite late to this game, but the MBP has better battery life and if you want to pony up for the Air with the better GPU (equivalent to the MBP), you’re only $50 off the price of the MBP with the same specs. At that point, $50 gets you 3 hours more battery and a brighter screen, which seems like a no-brainer to me.
The ranking is so true. The air is a giant leap in value and a game changer and an example of what should come. I ended up going for a MBP myself though but that’s because I want to get an extra long life out of a MacBook and having no fans for my workflow scare me in case the chip ever needs it down the road. Especially being in Texas. I’d also recommend the air for almost anyone.
Hey I’m a student I’m considering the new High End iMac or should I get the High End M1 Macbook Pro. Can anyone leave me a suggestion I personally prefer a laptop but idk which one to get cause they are all strong in terms of power.
Knowing that the new Macbook Pros M1X (or M2) didn’t come up yesterday as expected – but it rather seems they won’t be on mass productions until the end of the year. Do you recommend buying an M1 Pro now, and maybe upgrading to the new Macbooks in a year?
i got one too…big waste of money. Want to sell it and buy one with intel

Pro will always be a Pro but.
I love my M1 MacBook Pro, upgraded my 12” MacBook 2015. It works great and I really like the Touch Bar functionality. Got the 512GB at Costco for the price of the entry level. No regrets here.
If he said it I didn’t notice, is his the 8gb ou 16gb ram?
I fucked up. I bought one today without watching this video first!!!!!!!
