Will an 8gb ram model be fine for fairly heavy excel, multiple open office applications and basic office use? Can’t find a 16gb model in a reasonable time.

Great video, mate. That’s why I bought the M1 MacBook Air with 16 GB RAM (I paid $1200 and even saved $99 compared to the MacBook Pro). My logic: It’s not worth paying 30% more for getting 10-15% overall performance boost from the Pro. The M1 Air seemed to be the most logical approach to get the best value for my hard earned money. Yea, but that battery life! I’m looking at a new laptop because my 2015 Macbook’s battery life is about 10% of when new. Maybe the Pro will last longer than an Air but I’m not sure that would justify an extra $300. How special is that Touch Bar???

Hey, how about developer use like Android Studio and +5 chrome tabs with +8 hours workflow uses? Is recomended to get MBA? Maybe, i will using emulator in future when it’s fully compatible

Great video Max, I love my M1 MBP, I have come from a 27” iMac 2015, but it was struggling with 4K video editing so wanted more power, I managed to get a 13”MBP M1 with 512gb SSD but only 8GB ram for £1304 ($1807), which was to good a deal not to ignore, my only regret is I didn’t buy the 16gb model, as the RAM fills up quickly. I have it connected to a 28” external monitor which is perfect when running Final Cut Pro and Luminar AI, with the extra screen space. Keep up the good work🤘🏻

Thanks for this video! I’m definitely conflicted on which one to buy. I use both Logic and Final Cut and from what I’m seeing, the performance between the two is identical. My other concern is that I’ll invest in the M1 and Apple will release all new generation 2 machines 8 months from now. I want to buy something that is going to last me a few years.

All the YouTube videos are reviews on editing videos. I will really love a video on photo editing using Lightroom. That app is really slow on my 15´´MacBook Pro with the fan on full speed and would love to see the performance on M1. Will M1 be enough or should we wait for M1X?
