So that gold is more of a rose gold huh? i’m thinking about ditching my xps 13 for the air in gold but it doesn’t look proper 80’s hip hip gold u feel me
The M1 Air is great if it gets more memory.
😆The MB Pro people got a little upset by this one! Yes, he could have emphasized the battery difference, but cmon.
My M1 macbook pro blows through video editing and gaming i love it. it has replaced all my other machines.
I am a bit confused 😩😩😩😩 I’ve been following you guys for months and following keenly so I wouldn’t make an error on my first laptop purchase 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺now you saying this one is the worst 😩😩😩😩 #confused #help! 😢😢😢😢
Idk about you but this laptop is lit 🔥
Maxim! Here is the trick: put thermal pads on MacBook Air heatsink for better thermal performance. And MacBook Air will be as performant as MacBook Pro (except one video core).
Nice video idea
I got the 13” M1 MacBook Pro to replace my 16” MacBook Pro. I picked up an open box unit at Best Buy for $959 – less than the cost of the M1 MacBook Air. I like that the Pro has a bit more battery life than the Air and 8 GPU’s, plus the fan if ever needed. So far the fan stays silent. I also like the larger trackpad on the Pro vs the Air. I really don’t need the Touch Bar, but it occasional has value with some apps – scrolling images, etc. The brighter screen on the Pro is better when using it outside too compared to the Air. I also think the sound is somewhat better. In total a $300 cost difference may be excessive, but I think it’s still worth paying some extra for Pro, especially since the M1 upped the performance and battery life so much compared to prior models. Think of the Air as a really great deal and the Pro as a great deal.
Avoid buying any first gen Apple products. Support tends to end early or limited. Buy second gen.
Got my MacBook Air last month. Only 8GB of Unified RAM and a 512GB SSD. Works better in every way compared to my MacBook Pro 13″ 2019 with 16GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. I’m still shocked every time it instantly turns on when opening it. Even have iOS apps playing on it (like the GTA3 games). Awesome.
7hour
M1 MacBook Pro amazed me, I’m glad I picked one up. I’m not a heavy user, but to know that if i ever needed to..it could handle it.
Is it good for blender rendering for mentaflow?
Looks like you made some people who bought the M1 MacBook Pro mad! Lol. Replaced my spec’d out 5600M 16″ MBP w/ the base model M1 Air & a M1 mini. Don’t regret it one bit. Performance difference is barely noticeable & made $1000 buying two computers & selling one. It’s crazy, I have no practical reason to EVER need to upgrade if my workflow doesn’t get more intense. Though a redesign may make me, even though I really don’t need to.
8 hours?
bIg THANKS to your endless reviews. I ended up buying M1 Mac Mini with only 8GB memory and is now super happy with it after Big Sur 11.2 update. My electric bill dropped from $400 to $144 while video encoding. Faster processing, using less electricity, and less heat (less A/C usage).
How many videos do you have talking about the same thing all the time?
Max, I appreciate the time you put into all the benchmarking you do. Even though others will say benchmarks aren’t everything (and they aren’t) they do provide a good estimation of performance relative to other machines; this is of particular importance when comparing x86 and ARM. I like your analysis using FCP playback and exports because I’d imagine many of your subscribers will use their Macs for creative uses. I don’t want to pile on the hate you’ve been receiving about the titles, but some of them do make me cringe a little, and I am glad you are aware of this and will make the appropriate adjustments. Again man, I appreciate the time you put into the videos as your are always doing your best to make the best content and giving your best advice so we can make the most of our money.
What software are you using to create your stats animations? Thanks 😊
