It all comes down to money. With a new chip only on pro models they can upsell the nerds, whilst they know the average Jane doesn’t care, doesn’t know anything about chips. They just want the new phone. They probably had a 2 year contract so the new phone is gonna feel faster anyway and technically they would be upgrading to a new tech altogether.

I ditched iPhone when this year I went to upgrade my 6S for the 13 Pro and discovered that they purposefully designed iTunes and iCloud not to backup my music and restore it to a new device. They’ll restore my iTunes purchased music but not the MP3 music I added from elsewhere. Fuck Apple, they are such a stupid company that has gone down the toilet since Jobs died.
