I’m from Turkey and i cant even buy still in 2022 iphone 12 mini so if apple decides to make a big difference in normal and pro models goodbye pro models for the Turkey market.

The reason Apple kept the notch and now has the pill shaped hole punch is purposefully done. It’s to make everyone know you have an iPhone.

If you look at a phone from far away and see the notch it means iPhone.
Also if you see a silhouette of a phone and it has a notch everyone will know it’s an iPhone.

Now look at all other android phones, which is which? You’ll never know unless you nerd out and even then it might be difficult because they all have similar teardrop displays.

Dave, you and I both know that Apple won’t have any problem marketing even a removal of a pre-existing feature, let alone the maintaining of exact same hardware in a purportedly new line of devices, and they will sell.

I have an iphone 11 which works just fine. I will only buy a new one when there is an under screen front-facing camera system. Ora new significant leap in “apple” innovation.

“Apple is deliberate” obviously yes, but theyre not mainly doing it for product distinction. It’s about money. the chip shortage/supply issues/problems in China are causing them to lose money so theyre looking for ways to increase revenue first and foremost; everything else is marketing.
