the argument is, you can fit 2 mac minis M2pro in a 1U rack, and need 3U for 2 mac studios. the mac mini form factor is better for that use.

By the comparison between MacMini (with M2 Pro) and MacStudio (with M1 Max) you forget, that the MacStudio is actually cheaper. The MacStudio has the 10Gbit Ethernet included, which is a 100$ Option on the MacMini. So with a similar specification the price is 1999$ for the Max Studio and 2099$ for the MacMini (both with 32GB Ram, 512GB SSD, 10Gbit Ethernet).

wow only $400 for an extra 16gb ram and and another $200 for an extra 512gb storage on the mini pro .. wow what a deal, yeah such a fair price it feels like we are ripping apple off !! i cant wait to pay $2000 for a mini computer that needs a full motherboard replacement as soon as any of the components die out of warranty

I just looked a the price of a top specified mac mini m2 in Australia, its only $40 cheaper than the mac studio if you bung 32gb on it and add the 12 core cpu.

My M1 Mac Mini is the best desktop I’ve ever owned in my 36 years of desktop computing. it is too bad that windows is 20+ years behind apple in technology, software, and hardware. the over all quality and the brilliant ideas put into a Mac computer is astonishing

When you’re comparing M1 vs M2 core similarity (New Mini vs Studio) don’t forget that the M2 has higher base frequency. So M2 is a faster processor if the number of cores is equal.
