My most useful shortcut as of this time is tapping back to show vaccine card/QR album. For when vaccine certificate is required to enter an establishment (mostly when traveling)
My friend got my iPhone and secretly programmed it to say “oooh yeah juice me up baby” when I plugged it in the power. I had to put up with it for weeks until I worked out how to turn it off!
Every time I try to do something in shortcuts it turns out it can’t do it. For instance, most recently I wanted it to turn off my second (Business) SIM card when I get home. Nope, can’t do that. Alter your phones settings? Nope, probably can’t do that either, sorry (with a few exceptions)
Fabulously lucidly explained as all your tutorials are. Whenever people enthuse about shortcuts I am struck by how they are describing circumstances I never am in or functions for which I never have any use. This did nothing to convince me either and again described ‘needs’ that are never part of my day. Just as an aside, I’ve just done the mail a screenshot exercise manually, it took me 7 seconds, I’m not so busy that 7 seconds is crucial! My ears did prick up at the delaying text message feature you mentioned which I have explored and discarded in the past because it was useless and when I checked it still is the same as it was in that you have to leave the shortcut app open and the screen unlocked for it to work which remains beyond useless.
That said, you remain the first port of call for excellent information.
This was the best explanation I’ve seen on shortcuts. I am finding your tutorials really helpful. Thanks for doing them!
A shortcut to close all apps would be nice. But alas, there isn’t one in the gallery. I figured that would have been a good one to share with everyone.
