These video’s are life changing. Thank you so much for these amazing vids. keep up the amazing work!
You have made my children obsolete. Your great tutorials are my go-to as a ‘senior’ and I love impressing my friends – and my kids – with my new found tech knowledge.
i don’t even use shortcuts
My issue has been using location based shortcuts. You can’t automate them. It needs you to approve running them, making them virtually useless if you are trying to automate some action when you get home, for instance. Hoping the app will get fixed at some point.
Would love to get more truly useful shortcuts. Some that I have:
– automatically calendar drive time to pick up kids based on an item in their calendar, copy private block to work calendar
– set up an appointment with drive time for doctors, dentists, haircuts, etc and copy private block to work calendar
– tell my kids who is on dishes today
Most of my useful ones are calendar related though…
Can I use Shortcuts to notify me when one of my WhatsApp contacts is online?
bops
An intro into mobile programming (basically!).
nice vid!
Love your videos, thank you! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at Shortcuts and I am a tech junkie, but only to get frustrated. I just created a shortcut to FaceTime my daughter. But I feel like it’s just a as easy to say “hey Siri FaceTime my daughter” or “hey Siri set a timer for blah blah blah“ what am I missing that using hey Siri will be second choice to the shortcut? I hope all that made sense lol it did in my head🙉🙊🙈🐵
6:54 or you can say “hey siri, face time john”. no shortcut needed
shortcuts are very frustrating. i created one to turn on do not disturb focus every time i get to school, but it never works, even when my iphone is unlocked. toggle and alarm when i arrive at home also doesn’t work.. these shortcuts only work when you touch their icons. what kind of “automation” is this? apple say it’s because of security issues. that kind of fake automation doesn’t help anyone
Thank you for your video. I’ve never looked into before. I’m glad I came across this video and I am going to make me a heap o’ shortcuts✌️
Extremely informative video. I would love a simple one to use for google maps and set up speak into safari without typing (I know there is already a speak button) but to be more specific with safari searches.
We’re expecting more videos from you Hero
I have been creating and making my own complex shortcuts for a while now, glad to see more people are getting into it and learning how to use it.
I pretty much did trial and error for everything I could think of before I would say I got comfortable with it.
Honestly the shortcuts I have made and shared amongst friends save myself and others a ton of time in everyday life and are a ton of fun to put together.
So glad you made this! Thx!
A useful short cut for us would be sending standard text massages to a distress vessels. Prompt for Master’s Name & phone number of distress vessel.
Standard message is stored in notes & needs a macro for Master’s Name. How to we define macro substitution in Notes?
It seems shortcuts can’t adjust ringer volume. So you can’t do something like run a shortcut before going to bed to turn DND on, reduce call volume etc.
I’ve created very basic shortcuts before but never gone further than that. Would it be possible to create a shortcut that sends an imessage at a certain time Monday to Friday. It would be great to see how to create something like that. If it’s possible. Looking forward to so more tutorials on this subject 👍
Often wondered, now I know, 🙏 and you’ve a British voice without the bull that most vlogs from across the pond revel at.
