Quite frankly I waited until the M2 Air was announced, and ended up getting an M1 Air (upgrading from an old 2013 Pro). I already have my PC for “heavier” tasks, so the base M1 Air is plenty for basic tasks like web browsing and occasional Lightroom work. I avoid having a notch, the SSD is faster (arguably more important on the base model with only 8GB of RAM), and I save a few hundred bucks.

I was really close to picking one up to use it as a secondary machine for occasional Xcode use but not anymore, already knew about the slow SSD but the keyboard and trackpad feel really matters to me so yeah thank you for saving me $1400!

The m2 air is blue. That is why I had to have it otherwise the 14 is the way to go

Hola Quinn…sé que entiendes el Español, pues supe que estuviste por Bolivia hace unos años……quería decirte, que tus reseñas, suelen ser “honestas” intelectualmente hablando. Te cuento que hace menos de un mes decidí comprarme el MBP 14,2, pues hice mi análisis, y como trabajo en Ingeniería, el ventilador es fundamental para los trabajos que ejecuto; El MB Air nunca realmente fue una opción para mi. Te felicito y te saludo desde Sudamercica, Asunción, Paraguay!

I was just waiting for this kind of review. Deeper and clearer than any other.
At the end of the day we just have to match or desires and reality of money. I personally am going to buy a M1 Pro 14″ MBP, because it’s better to my daily work and will last almost forever (I mean at least 7/8 years).
