just buy it and trackpad sound is killing me!
great video!
Charger thing is a definite annoyance
Great video. This is the exact reason I bought a used like new M1 Air for $650.
M1 did get extra credit, that Apple don’t expected to be (count x86 market) and now it is use it, I think.
Great work! You have effectively discouraged me from buying an M2 Air! 😅 I will stick with the M1!
On the Magic Trackpad, there is an option in settings to change the clicking sound. Is that true here?
personally, I don’t mind the fact that the MagSafe cabe comes out easier on the MacBook Air, because then if someone trips over it, it will be less likely to pull the computer off the table.
Thanks
i have an m2 mba and i absolutely love it. more than perfect for my needs.
Hello,
i am design student and i am about to buy macbook for 3D designing or rendering in Rhino or autoCAD.
I need the best performance for that price.
Because i am a student i do not have enough money to buy Macbook M1 PRO 14.
That´s mean i am deciding between MACBOOK AIR M1 16GB RAM or MACBOOK AIR M2 16 GB RAM.
(both with 256 GB)
After your videos i am not sure what to think about both macbooks.
I will really apreciate your advice.
THANKS A LOT
Having come from an old Intel i7 that basically runs its fan all day, non-stop now I‘m kinda allergic to any laptop with a fan. But looking at a configuration for running Parallels, i.e. 24 GB RAM and a 1TB SSD, the price is, as you say, identical here in Germany for the M1 Macbook Pro and the M2 MBA. Maybe I need to go watch videos about M1 MBP fan noise…
can you add chapters, other than that perfect v
as a first time macbook user, im surprised the machine doesn’t sound at all while i’m use it for docker.
but after updating to mac os ventura, im afraid the battery will drained.
So, I love the video, but 2 important things –
1. Design makes a big difference. I moved from the 14” M1 Pro to a 512Gb 10 core M2 Air. I love it. The portability of the Air is unmatched. The 14” is too bulky for me. Also, the sharp edges on the 14” pro really dig in to my wrist and I cannot type on it for long.
2. The M2 Air is still quite good value because here in India, I got it for almost 22% off from the store. There are good discounts on the M2 Air as well!
Overall, being someone who has used the 14” pro for 6 months, I’d recommend you buy the 14” only and only if you absolutely need the performance. If you travel a lot, consider the Air. Also, check out the sharp edges at a store.
I dont understand why he keeps comparing it to the pro… its complete different categories appeal to different people
Also what thermal throttling are you referring to? You run a stress test in a fan less light laptop
The M2 Air trackapad sounds cheap in comparison to M2 Pro, and that sounds cheap in comparison to M1 16inch macbook. I’ve tried them all. The higher up you go, the better trackpad feel you get. I think it has to do with how chassis absorbs sound. Hardware should be pretty similar right?
I am sure this M2 Air, even with its base specs, will be a LOT better than what I am upgrading from (Base level 2017 MacBook 12)
Dolphin censor sound should be standard
it is funny for me when I hear that m2 air in some countries is more expensive than the new MacBooks pro. in my country m2 air costs almost as much as the MacBooks pro, while iPhone 14 is costs as much as iPhone 13 Pro used to. While iPhone 14 Plus 256 GB is more expensive than iPhone 13 Pro Max 256 GB used to
