Apple decided to not work with Johny and went down the same time in quality of build. That keyboard flex is not APPLE design at all. They now want to make more money on each product rather than focusing on quality.

I absolutely agree, it’s basically almost 2x more expensive than MacBook Air M1. Also, once you pay extra $200 for M2, $200 for 512GB to get back the original 256GB performance, and $200 for 16GB, might as well go for $200 more for 24GB RAM, and we’re basically at 2k after-tax for a machine with just 24GB/512GB / outdated dual-band WiFi.

Compare with X13s ― you can get 32GB / 512GB / WiFi 6E (tri-band with 6GHz) for only 1k on a sale. It’s also fanless 5nm processor.

Memory is honestly the biggest thing you may want these days. 16GB in 2022 is just not enough. The cost of a 32GB stick is only 100 bucks, so, buying a 2k machine with $50 of memory is a strange proposition.

Wow, I didn’t even know the keyboard was so bad, and the MagSafe is kind of a downgrade, too! Honestly, I’m puzzled why anyone would pay $400 extra just to get to the NVME performance as M1, and then also deal with a worse keyboard and trackpad!

I have the MacBook Air M1 base model, bought in April last year (2021), and I was considering replacing it with the M2 model….but after seeing this video, I’m not so sure it’s worth it. Also, my parents share a MacBook Pro M1 – they got in…December 2020 or January 2021 I think – but it’s honestly quite overkill for their needs, so they were thinking to downgrade to an Air….which now I’ll recommend be a M1 instead of the M2.

i bought the m2 air starlight color. amazon had the 512 model for $1349 ended up being $1443. i was thinking bout getting the pro but with tax it would been over $1700. and im sure its worth it. but im in college an money is tight an the m2 air had the better screen between m2 and or the m1 air and im taking photography

Even before this video, I was shopping for new Macbooks and came to the same conclusions. For people who want an Air, the M1 offers a much better value. For people who want features and longevity, the M1 Pro offers a much better answer as well. I got the M1 Pro for myself and I got the M1 Air for a family member who will probably use it for a decade (as was the case with a 2013 Air, still going strong). The M2 is the awkward middle child, outshined by both lower and upper models.

the m2 macbook air is a great improvement for me from the 12 inch macbook. Its lightning fast but its thicker and heavier (quite noticeable) the 14 inch pro is deffo a no go for me as it would probably be alot thicker and heavier..

I oredered m2 the base model 3 days ago for the first time using mac as i decided to switch from windows.I didnt watch this video and already i feel iam fucked by apple 🙁
I wished if i ordered the old M1 ans saved 200$ :((((((
