If they ever release an M3 model, with 3nm chip and OLED panel. Wow, I’d jump at that. Alas….
I don’t even know where my magsafe cable that came with my MBP 14 is. Why would I limit myself to only charging one device whereas with a usb c cable I can charge any gadget I own except for devices that Apple foolishly keeps using a Lightning port.
Best review! Best reviewer!
Spot on man!
Dude, you consistently put out such badass reviews. Props, Quinn. Love your work, man.
Just wanted to drop a note to say I’ve been really impressed with your videos lately. The quality just keeps getting better and better! Keep up the great work!
Silly statement: not much is new….except the design and the chip. So…like what else could be different?
OK so real world actual use performance – if you’re buying the base spec of the M1 or the M2, which is faster, given the SSD on the M2 is so much slower? I’m talking for people who look at web pages, watch YouTube, use Office and maybe run Photoshop once in a while? So many videos by everyone about the SSD but no confirmation of what is actually going to run programs faster in a real-life use case scenario between those two base-spec models.
I am using the M2 air with 16GB RAM & 512SSD, would say it’s a huge upgrade comparing to my previous intel i7 13inch MacPro. I do cybersecurity so running those virtual machines has been a breeze on M2 chip as well.
Considered getting the 14inch MacPro but its $600 more expensive in Singapore using student discount; rather use the $600 for something else since M2 air is really good enough for college students like myself.

This is exactly the kind of review which sets you out from the crowd. Many other tubers make multiple videos covering all the angles. You’ve managed to capture all the relevant info, and reach the debatable conclusion that it’s a good computer, but the unmistakeable conclusion that as a value proposition it’s way off what the M1 MacBook Air and the M1 14″ MacBook Pro offer – in just one video. It’s a computer for no one. No one needs it, and no one should want it at the price it is. As for you Quinn, quality over quantity as usual.
Thank you so much for the information. I was gonna buy M2 MacBook Air but now im gonna but M1 MacBook pro. 😍
Very good well thought out review.
Live for the Queen reference!
radii is the plural of radius, you are talking about a single object. stop trying to come off as smarter by misusing words you think sound smart.
Quinn pretty much has my opinion as well. I am very happy with my base model M1 MacBook Air that I purchased at Micro Center for $799 about a year ago.
Have to say. Strongly disagree with the keyboard impression, vastly prefer the airs to the pro – and I own the pro
It should be noted that in Canada, there is a much more significant gap especially in taxed provinces between the M1 Pro and the m2 air..
Please do a drop test. The M2 looks more vulnerable than past Macbook Airs
Great sponsor transition 😊
