This is a beautifullly researched video! Good job to the team 😉
I wish they had an option in the $500-600 range… where it sits, I’d just grab the 13” Pro.
And for the notch — it really only bothers me if it causes issues in applications. Like on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, sometimes the notch hides things and it drives me NUTS. I wish it really acted like a couple extra displays up there. AND THAT I COULD SEE BATTERY PERCENTAGE.
Also I hate all MacBook model keyboards, but it’s rare I actually like any laptop keyboard XD
I just bought M1 MBA w/ education pricing and Apple India store gave me a free AirPods. Win win 🙂
Ordered my M1 Macbook Air 16GB/512GB back in Dec 2020. It’s a perfect work-from-home laptop.
Handled weird memory leaks MS Office had like a champ, played some games and had tons of zoom meetings.
Still holds up just as well – I don’t see anything the M2 Air that I am missing. Perhaps the webcam, but that’s really not a big deal.
Great ad segment 👌🏻

Amazing review as always
I always disliked the MacBook Air. It always had relatively poor performance and a design (wedge shape) that I never liked. They fixed the performance with M1 and fixed the design with M2. I happily got the M2 MBA (Midnight, 512 GB storage, 16 GB RAM, base M2) and I love it. It’s replacing my M1 iMac as my main computer.
I have a 16” MacBook Pro (M1 Pro, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD) for work. Even the 14” is too big in my opinion for casually laying on the couch doing personal things. Overall, I am very happy with the new MacBook Air! Although I wouldn’t recommend it over the M1 model to the average buyer.
So wait for the m2 14” mbp?
Brilliant 👍
You nailed it. This m2 air doesn’t make any sense for the value. Apple should not do 8 gb ram anymore as base model it is bad for consumers. I have traded 2 m1 machines, (yes lost money when you trade in in first year) , because 8 gb is not enough even for every days tasks. 16 gb should be base model. Increase the price if you have to. Don’t make people regret the purchase. Honest review
This was the kerfuffle I wrestled myself with (spoiler alert – I won) when I was looking to buy a new Macbook this year. Ultimately I choose the M1 Pro for many of the reasons Quinn mentioned, but more so based off the additional ports the M1 Pro provides along with the performance hike. Point being, if I’m dropping enough cash to take a bath in high-quality honey and hire a porpoise named Janet to laugh at me for making such a stick mess; I don’t want to purchase extra dongles as well.
I tore myself into halves going back and forth between the M2 MBA (8/8,16,512) and just going to the base 14” MBP. Yup, I know the MBP is a lot more machine. And the speakers and display would be great for media. But I knew I would not use the MBP’s power. I do appreciate the bigger, brighter display vs the M1 MBA. And MagSafe, and the much improved webcam. The single-core performance is what I “feel” the most for my use.
The kicker for me is that it slips into my work bag (in a pocket meant for a tablet) with a behemoth Dell Precision workstation. I can’t tell it’s there. That wasn’t the case with the 14” MBP. If I was primarily using/leaving this machine at home, or doing much heavier tasks, I’d be all over the MBP, especially when they dipped to $1,700USD new at BestBuy.
I can’t put my finger on it, but I’m two weeks in, and I have no regrets. It feels like the right machine, I don’t feel it’s lacking in anything important to me, and I don’t feel like I over-bought either.
A little late to the game for the “definitive“ M2 Air review!
Snazzy’s reviews are so detailed sometimes that he sounds like the asshole of the tech culture
Thanks for the info about MagSafe falling out and keyboard flex, total shockers
If you get 16 gigs of ram you should be fine, at that price it is still not the best value, but its a better proposition than upgrading both storage and memory.
Their pricing with what each laptop offers feels scammy. Who is ok with 8 GB ram and 256GB storage in this day and age?
Thanks for featuring WEARETHEGOOD. 🎶
What a great vide. Congratulations for the quality and thank you for the effort.
